Second Chance: Repairing Our Broken Love Chapter 1

The year that Andy started his business and lost all his assets, I thought he was poor and wanted a divorce.

He begged me to wait until his sick mother passed away before divorcing him.

I refused him with a cold face and forced him to sign the divorce agreement.

Later, he made a name for himself and used all kinds of means to marry me the second time. He kept me by his side to torture me for revenge.

He brought different women home and had sex with them on my bed in the master bedroom.

But I didn't cry or make a fuss. I didn't even disturb him.

He was so angry that he bit my lips and asked, "Mia, aren't you angry?"

He didn't know that I wasn't angry because I was sick.

Every day he hung out with a different woman, but I was counting down the days.

After the nurse gave me the last shot, she started nagging again.

"Don't get tired or angry after leaving the hospital."

"Most importantly, you can't get hurt. Never!"

The girl looked serious and reminded me as if I was a child.

I nodded and rolled down the sleeves of my shirt.

It was July, but I was still wearing long-sleeved shirts and trousers.

The clothes were too big for me. They covered my weak body and the bruises from all the stitches.

The painkiller pills didn't work on me for a long time, so I had to go to the hospital for my shots.

I used to come for a shot once a week, but now I came every day.

It wouldn't be easy to insert the needle when I had a lot of injections.

Every time, the nurse hesitated for a long time before she inserted the needle.

She asked me, "By the way, where's your family member? You always come alone. You should ask someone to accompany you when you get an injection."

I wanted to say that the family members didn't come, but when I met the girl's sincere and concerned eyes, I changed my words.

"Family... My husband is parking downstairs."

I looked out of the window. The black Maybach was very eye-catching.

The nurse was a little dissatisfied. "Tell him to hurry up. Does it take so long to park the car?"

I smiled and didn't defend him anymore.

I'm not lying. My husband, Andy, is indeed parking downstairs.

However, he was here to accompany another woman.

We met on the first floor of the hospital.

Andy supported the woman next to him with one hand and held the registration form with the other hand. The woman’s bag was still hanging on his shoulder.

He adjusted his pace for her, bent his long legs, and walked very slowly.

I recognized her. She was my husband's new favorite, whose surname seemed to be York. Her name was Zoe.

Other than me, she was the woman who stayed by Andy's side for the longest time.

Andy almost changed his companion every week or half a month at most.

But she had been with Andy for a year.

It was said that Andy had bought an apartment near the company for her, and he usually lived there.

He treated her differently.

Young and beautiful girls always looked at their men with their eyes full of love. Who could refuse them?

Soon, Zoe’s smile disappeared because she saw me.

Andy also stopped.

He clenched the registration form in his hand. I could clearly see the words O.B. on it.

When Andy saw me, the warmth on his face turned into disgust.

He frowned slightly and his voice turned cold.

"Mia, what are you doing here?"

When Zoe saw me, she shrank her shoulders like a mouse seeing a cat.

"Mrs. Jones, Mr. Jones and I..."

I remembered that she worked for Andy.

She had an excellent chance to get close to him.

But I was closer to Andy.

We grew up together.

We studied in the same high school and the same university.

It could be said that Andy had been around since I was conscious.

I always thought that we would be together for the rest of our lives.

But now, he chose to accompany the others.

Andy frowned before I could say anything.

He put his arms around Zoe’s shoulders to let her lean on him.

He raised his chin at me and said in a mocking tone.

"Mia, what are you doing here? You'd better explain yourself. I'm afraid Zoe will misunderstand."

I had something to do. I came here to get an injection to relieve the pain.

I didn't have much time left. I had to rely on painkillers to survive every day.

But I didn't want to tell him.

I answered, "I have my own business. It has nothing to do with you."

Andy sneered. "Don't pretend. What can happen to you? Don't tell me you're here to see a doctor?"

He snorted. "Don't say that you're sick. I won't be amused by such a joke."
