Chapter 2

As I saw the swarm of reporters outside the campus gates, I couldn't help but admire my own foresight.

If Landon had shown up today, I might have never made it through the entrance.

The reporters were relentless, shoving microphones in students' faces in their quest for an exclusive shot of Landon's sister.

I strolled past them with a sense of relief, unnoticed.

However, as soon as I walked into the dorm, I saw a crowd of girls gathered around a girl with a pure, innocent look.

She was stamping her foot in frustration, saying, "Ugh, Brother should really keep a low profile. Why does he have to make everything so public? It's so annoying.

"Please, don't tell anyone about this,"

The girls eagerly promised, "Don't worry, we won't say a word."

"Mia, your name is so pretty," one of them said.

"Of course! She's Landon's sister. Not only does she have a beautiful name, but she's also gorgeous," another added.

I thought, What? If she's Landon's sister, then who am I?

Mia Kingsley, the girl in question, shyly flicked a strand of hair behind her ear.

Almost immediately, someone recognized the Patek Philippe watch on her wrist.

Landon had once posted a photo where his sister's hand, adorned with that very watch, accidentally appeared. Although he quickly deleted the post, sharp-eyed fans saved it, and it spread like wildfire online.

The watch was a one-of-a-kind custom piece.

At the sight of the watch, everyone's eyes lit up.

I frowned.

I did have that watch, but it was in my jewelry box, so hers must be a fake.

That was when someone turned their attention to me.

With a hint of bitterness, she said, "You're so lucky to be rooming with Mia. Do you know who her brother is?"

I shook my head.

The girl exaggerated, saying, "She's Landon's sister!"

I simply gave Mia a brief glance and said, "Oh."

At my lack of reaction, the place fell silent.

Mia looked at me with a mix of pride and annoyance.

The closest girl to her, clearly suspicious, said, "Her reaction seems off. She's not a Landon hater, is she?"

In a flash, everyone's gaze was fixed on me as if waiting for me to admit it so they could pounce. I found the whole situation both amusing and frustrating.

After reassuring them multiple times that I wasn't a Landon hater, they finally backed off. Meanwhile, the girl who had questioned me was none other than my other roommate, Flora Mitchell.
