Roommate is Pregnant: Is the Father of the Child My Dad?
Chapter 9
Carl didn't explain further and drove away from me.
I tried calling him, at least to get my car back, but Carl not only refused to answer but also blocked me.
Forget it, I wouldn't go back this weekend.
I found a nearby hotel and booked a suite.
It wasn't until the evening that Carl called to explain.
His voice was low and muffled, as if in a confined space, "Miss, today's incident was my fault. Please don't tell Mr. Jones."
I coldly laughed, "Miss? Not Bella?"
Carl stammered, trying to explain, "Janet and I are truly in love. She's a rich lady. I was foolish to pretend to be your father. I'm sincerely apologizing. But after all these years, I have worked hard for the Jones family. Now that I have a son, please give me a chance."
So, both were impostors. One pretended to be Mr. Jones, and the other a rich lady. No wonder they were a perfect match.
I could reveal Janet's identity right now, but if I did, Carl would not let me or Aunt Helen off.
I sneered and instead offered him advice.
"A rich lady this easy to fool is rare. I suggest you quickly divorce your wife and marry Janet. Otherwise, your child will be illegitimate."
Carl was stunned, surprised at my kindness. He was about to thank me when I continued, "But, I must tell you that you're fired. Return the car and house keys to the butler quickly. Otherwise, it won't look good if the police get involved. You don't want Janet to know you're just a driver, right?"
Carl cursed me angrily, calling me ungrateful and disrespectful. I couldn't be bothered to listen and hung up.
