Chapter 7

Because our voices were quite loud, a lot of people had gathered at the dormitory door.

Each one was waiting to watch the show.

Thea immediately put the bag back into my wardrobe and whispered to Flora, "Flora, let's just put them back. If this gets big, I'm not sure Janet can protect us."

Flora reluctantly put the bag back and then began asking Janet for money. "Janet, you're about to marry into a wealthy family and become rich by your son. Just pay back our money. We really can't afford it."

Janet stiffened her neck. "I already told you to use these bags to pay off the debt. What are you afraid of?"

Flora sighed and continued, "Janet, you haven't given birth to the eldest son yet. If you turn against Mr. Jones now, what if he doesn't like you anymore?"

I didn't know which sentence got through to Janet, but she reluctantly returned my bags and sneered at the onlookers, "Don't think I don't know you look down on me for being pregnant before marriage. But once you know who the father of my child is, you'll see how great my life is. I just need to endure for six more months to rise up."

To be honest, I was also very curious to know who her Mr. Jones was.

I couldn't help but wonder what she would think if she really met Mr. Jones.

However, Thea and Flora only cared about their money and kept pressing Janet for it.

"Janet, you said you'd treat us to a meal. That's why we ordered. Now you can't say we should split the bill. I really can't afford it."

"You ordered those dishes. How would we know about such high-end stuff?"

.....

Janet was so annoyed that she couldn't sleep and had to go to the bathroom to make a phone call.

When she returned, Janet looked much better and had returned the money to the two of them, regaining her confident demeanor.
