Chapter 1

CHAPTER 1:My Decision.

LILIA'S POV

Willow's hands trembled as she read the plot showing my fake death.

Her eyes locked onto mine, filled with concern. "Are you sure you want to do this, my Luna?" she whispered.

“My mind is made up, this is my only way of getting back to Alpha Rowan and Rylan”.

Willow's gaze fell, her voice barely above a whisper. "But Luna, think of the consequences…”

Willow, my pack's assistant maid, had been a good friend to me and a secret confidant, since I got married into the Black Rose pack, so I literally told her everything.

This time, she was stunned in silence,as she silently read through the plot, her eyes widened as she read each sentence aloud.

I cut her off, my voice firm.

"I've thought it through, Willow.

I'm tired of being the perfect Luna, tired of pretending that my life is perfect when it's shattering around me."

The whole pack has always envied I and Rowan's relationship, it was seen as a perfect bond, without flaws and conflicts.

During the pack's family reunion we were always used as an example to other couples who are always having family clashes.

If only they knew that the once praised and honoured Alpha Rowan,is a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Someone who could not respect our mate bond but go about sleeping with his mistress, “ Ember my illegitimate sister”.

Willow hissed, snapping me away from my thoughts, her eyes darkened with concern.

“I will always support you Luna Lilia but please, I want you to think about this again”,she persuaded.

“Willow”, I called out sharply, her gaze fixed on me.

“I'm tired of appearing as the perfect Luna when my life and family is being shattered.

I'm lonely in my home, not even my son shows concern and love to me.

“I want to fake my death, I want to make it in a way that Rowan would be responsible for it,” I said, my voice low and crackly with hot tears streaming down my eyes.

“Dry up your tears Luna”, Willow said, as she pulled closer, clearing the tears on my cheek with a dried towel.

“I would help you achieve that, I heard the news of the rogues planned attack, that would be a perfect way of executing our plans,” she said, her voice low and filled with concern.

I shook my head and hissed as I even couldn't believe myself, I'm left with no choice.

Rowan and Rylan, my little son, had built their lives outside of me.

My once caring, loving mate is now sneaking around hanging out with my illegitimate sister Ember.

She doesn't fail to send me pictures and videos about my mate and child hanging around her.

“You have a perfect life Lilia, I will get everything you have,” she once said.

I recalled the times Rowan worshiped me like a true Luna, my marriage was going smoothly, but this past three years, it had been nothing to write home about.

The bell on the cabin door rang, Rowan and Rylan walked in, with a bag filled with goodies.

“Mommy, Mommy, I and dad got you this," Rylan said, lifting up a bottle of natural fruit blend.

I gave out a sly grin, as I pulled him away, walking back to the kitchen.

Rowan raised an eyebrow.

He seems to be surprised at my attitude these days.

Usually, once I hear the cabin's bell, I would rush quickly and hug him passionately, as I will raise Rylan up and plant a kiss on his chin.

“Are you okay Lilia?" Rowan's voice chimed in, as he moved closer to me and held my waist from the back, his gaze fixed on me.

I gently pulled him away and continued chopping the vegetables I had neatly arranged.

“Yes I'm fine, dinner will be ready soon,” I said sharply.

“Where are the maids? You know you aren't supposed to be doing this Lilia”,he spoke loudly.

“I have to do it today Rowan,it's our sixth year anniversary today.”

On hearing this, Rowan's eyes rolled with guilt, as he avoided my gaze, he seemed to have forgotten it's our six year anniversary today.

“I'm sorry Lilia, I have been so busy with business that I couldn't save the date, I would make it up to you," he said, his voice low and husky.

But I knew his words were empty, that his heart belonged to Ember.

And I was determined to expose his deceit, no matter the cost.

Previously, no matter how busy Alpha Rowan was, he would always come home with a bouquet of flowers.

He even cancels meetings just to stay close to me.

He would always say, " A place far from you, is a place not worth living.

I want to have you in my arms everyday, my Luna”.

Meanwhile, Rylan never failed to mimic Rowan's kind gestures and love towards me.

He would proudly carry my bag, insisting to be my little gentleman.

Who would have thought that my loving mate and son everyone saw as the epitome of devotion were secretly loving another woman?.

Countless nights when Alpha Rowan claimed to be away on business, he was whispering sweet words to Ember.

She would laugh loudly, making sure I recognized her voice on the other end.

Rylan is not an exception to this sudden change, having begun calling Ember "Mom" with unreserved affection.

But as I looked at him, I had made up my mind.

I would fake my own death, and Rowan would pay for his betrayal.

Shortly, I served dinner, I watched Rylan who seemed not to be interested in the food, as he played with the spoons.

“Mom, why didn't you let the maids cook”, he asked coldly, as he stood up from the seat and left.

Rowan did the same but looked into his phone as he left to answer a phone call.

I laughed bitterly, as I stared at both of them, leaving their meals untouched.

I reached for the bottle of fruit blend Rylan had brought me earlier and poured it into a glass, taking a sip from it.

Not long, after I took a sip of the drink, I knew something was wrong.

I screamed loudly, wrapping my hands over my stomach as the pain was unbearable.

I welled my eyes up, screaming and shouting for help as hot tears filled my eyes, the pain was too much to bear

"I couldn't even fake my own death," I whispered, my voice trembling. "I was poisoned…”
