Revenge of Two Worlds

I transitioned into a minor supporting character who was only mentioned briefly in the book.

In order to complete the task issued by the system to pursue the male protagonist, I enjoyed the lavish life of a rich girl. For over ten years, I acted as his devoted follower.

Just as my enthusiasm for this role began to wane, the system abruptly changed my mission.

In this showbiz novel, the male lead, Christian Bianchi, was a prominent figure with a wealthy background and a cold demeanor. Yet, for the female lead, Elsie Johnston, he was willing to spend lavishly. Elsie was gentle, lovely, and ambitious, standing out like a lotus in the murky waters of the entertainment industry.

I was originally just a passerby who was described briefly in the book. How much of a passerby was I? I was the daughter of a wealthy family who mocked the heroine at a certain banquet, saying, "All kinds of people can attend the banquet."

Perhaps due to the overly sweet nature of the story, the system assigned me the task of winning over the male lead.

Consequently, I became a well-known follower of Christian, always available to him at any hour and obedient to his every command.

Despite my dedication, Christian remained distant. Just as I resigned myself to my role as a mere background character and that only the female lead Elsie could touch his heartstrings, the system altered my mission again.

"The main storyline mission has been changed, please check it. To pair the second male lead with the female lead. If the mission is completed, you can return to the real world. Failure results in permanent entrapment in this fictional world. Please take this mission seriously."

Reading the new task, I realized the system recognized that winning over the male lead was unfeasible, opting instead for a simpler objective.

The second male lead, Raphael Sanders, was the heroine's unspoken love, a character whose tragic backstory resonates with fans.

His father was a gambling addict, and his mother abandoned him at five because she couldn't stand his father.

He silently supported the heroine while watching her fall for the hero.

After researching Raphael's backstory overnight, I empathized with his struggles, understanding why the system wanted to pair him with the heroine.

Previously, I had relied on family connections to get close to Christian but had never met Elsie or Raphael.

Contemplating the new mission, I decided to enter the entertainment industry and informed my indulgent parents of my choice.

Everyone who knew the news was not surprised at all. After all, I had pursued Christian for years, so entering the industry for him seemed logical.

On the fifth day of working at Christian's company, I finally met the heroine, Elsie.

She embodied the novel's description, wearing a white dress and with long flowing hair. When I saw her, I was attracted to her.

As expected, Elsie attracted everyone's attention as soon as she entered the company not only for her innocent beauty but also as a new artist signed by the company's top agent.

My manager, Esther Black, remarked quietly, "What a promising beauty."

She then glanced at my expressionless face, concerned I might react out of jealousy, and added, "Of course, Ms. Burton is the prettiest, with an exceptional presence."

I looked at Esther's cautious appearance, and followed Elsie in front of me.
