Daughter's Death The Real Murderer is My Husband and His Mistress
Chapter 5
Seeing me still in the living room, he seemed a bit surprised.
His eyes were somewhat evasive when he looked at me.
"Honey, why aren't you asleep yet?"
I smirked, my eyes fixed on his face.
"What happened to your face?"
The glaring scratches were hard to ignore.
It was obvious that he had been scratched.
"A colleague brought their cat to the office for temporary care. The cat has a wild temper. I teased it a bit, and it scratched me."
Was it really a cat, or was it a person who scratched him?
"Could it be that the cat smelled the stench on you?"
I looked at him with a half-smile.
Jeremy chuckled awkwardly, avoiding my gaze.
"I bathe every day. Where would any stench come from? I don't even like eating fish."
I knew exactly how he got those scratches.
I handed him a prepared first-aid kit.
"Disinfect and apply some medicine. If it gets infected, it won't be a joke."
Jeremy looked a bit moved, "Honey, I knew you cared about me."
Of course, I cared about him.
I constantly thought about how to make him pay!
The next day, Emma came to me with photos of Jeremy's affair.
Seeing her angry expression, I almost thought it was her husband who cheated.
"These young girls are so shameless!"
I looked at the photos, finally squeezing out a few tears after a long while.
"I never thought he would be like this. I want a divorce!"
As soon as I mentioned divorce, Emma's eyes lit up.
"Yes! Cheating is unforgivable! Once a cheater, always a cheater! You must divorce him!"
Realizing she was too excited.
She sighed and wiped my tears. "You're so excellent. Even if you divorce, you won't have trouble finding a good man!"
I shook my head sadly. "He will never agree to a divorce!"
Emma immediately said, "You must divorce! Even if you have to leave with nothing, you can't spend your life with a man like that!"
I lowered my head, a faint smile appearing on my lips.
It seemed the photos had indeed driven Emma crazy.
After all, Jeremy might be a bit of a womanizer, but he could earn money.
Who wouldn't want to hold onto such a long-term meal ticket?
Emma's ambition was now clear.
She wanted me to give up my place to her.
We were such good friends and of course, I would give her what she wanted.
That evening, I sent the child to my parents' house.
When I got home, I told Jeremy I wanted a divorce.
and I showed him the photos.
I kindly informed him that these photos were given to me by the gentle and virtuous Emma.
Jeremy cried and hugged me, saying he had lost his mind for a moment and did something that let me down.
He refused to agree to a divorce.
I pushed him away, crying heartbroken.
"Get away from me! If it weren't for Emma, my good friend, I would still be in the dark!"
Jeremy hurriedly defended himself, "She just wants to ruin our marriage. She can't stand to see you happy!"
I cried, perfectly portraying my grief and indecision.
After this incident, Jeremy treated me extraordinarily well.
He was almost entirely submissive to me.
A few days later, Emma called to ask how the divorce was going.
I sighed helplessly, "He refuses to divorce and even knelt to promise he would cut ties with the other woman and never do it again."
"We have a child, after all. It's not that easy to just end things."
Emma hung up the phone angrily.
But I was in an exceptionally good mood.
Even the sky outside seemed bluer than usual.
Just wait. None of those responsible for the deaths of my child and me will escape.
I pretended to reconcile with Jeremy, making Emma completely lose patience.
When Jeremy's car was sent to the repair shop, I took on the task of driving him to and from work every day.
One day, I went to pick him up as usual.
I saw him and Emma arguing loudly near the flower bed not far from the office.
I didn't rush out to question them but quietly watched their quarrel from the car.
Emma, looking hysterical, seemed like a resentful woman catching her man cheating.
Jeremy was becoming impatient.
In their struggle, he pushed Emma to the ground.
Emma instantly exploded, standing up to scratch and bite Jeremy.
Neither noticed Kieran walking towards the road.
Before I could call out, a speeding car hit Kieran, sending him flying several meters away!
