Remaining Love Withered
Chapter 2
I didn’t die. The security guard rushed over when I fainted.
When I woke up, all I could see was white. The whole ward was empty.
I was about to get up when the door creaked open.
My best friend came in with tears in her eyes, followed by the male nurse who saved me.
“Tiffany, why are you here?”
I asked in surprise, my voice was hoarse.
“Are you awake?”
My best friend ran over and poured me a glass of water.
After drinking it, I felt much better.
Looking at her red and swollen eyes, I smiled bitterly and asked, “Why are you crying?”
She opened her mouth, but before she could speak, tears were about to overflow from her eyes again. She quickly turned her back to me.
I cast my eyes on the male nurse.
The male nurse took two steps forward, his eyes full of pity.
“The child is gone.”
I pulled the corner of my lips and said, “It’s expected.”
This child was conceived when Eric came home after drinking.
I went to the hospital yesterday because of bleeding. The doctor said it was a sign of congenital miscarriage.
When I got this news, I was both happy and sad.
Ever since Ella appeared beside Eric, he hardly touched me. Sometimes he would push me on the bed like crazy, but after stripping off my clothes, he would throw me down angrily.
He always said that I was not clean and any man who appeared beside me, even a takeaway boy, would be called my adulterer by him.
I didn’t even know whether this marriage should continue, let alone this child.
But I was reluctant to give it up after all.
When I was most lonely and helpless, it was Eric who gave me a home.
I would also think that maybe after having a child, Eric would no longer doubt me.
But yesterday, the last trace of affection also withered with the passing of the child.
I chuckled and pulled the corner of my bestie’s clothes.
She slapped my hand away angrily and her eyes widened when she turned to me.
“You can still laugh?! Do you know that you almost died? Yesterday, that bastard didn’t even sign your surgery form. If the doctor hadn’t called me, I would never see you again, do you know that?”
After saying that, she cried and hugged me.
I sighed and my fingers gently fell on her back, stroking it again and again.
After six years of marriage, I didn’t expect that before I died, Eric would not even sign the consent form for the surgery for me.
How cruel!
I asked Justin, “The child is gone, is there no way for me to prove that this child is my husband’s?”
After hearing my question, my best friend pulled away from me with a look of regret.
“You are like this and you still don’t want to give up on him?”
I gently wiped the tears from her face. “How can I not give up? The child is his, how can I let him feel at ease?”
“Okay, it happened to be the situation yesterday and I also thought that you might need embryonic tissue, so I asked the doctor to keep it for you temporarily.”
The male nurse’s words made me extremely grateful.
“Thank you so much. It was thanks to you that I was protected yesterday.”
My best friend burst out laughing and said, “My name is Justin and I’m one year younger than you.”
As we were talking, the door of the ward was pushed open with a loud noise, which scared the three of us.
“Wanda, you actually dared to call the police to arrest Ella. Did you become bolder now?”
