Chapter 5

Charlie's POV

When I was leaving with Jenson, I intentionally got close to Jenson to watch Ashley’s reaction. Her eyes were fierce, she couldn't almost keep her fang inside her mouth. If she ever got the chance, she would devour me. I enjoyed the drama while holding Jenson close to me.

We entered in a suit where Jenson prepared everything for the meeting.

“Charlie, this is vital for us.” He murmured.

“Don't worry, we get this.” Seeing the determination in my eyes, Jenson smiled.

“I know I can rely on you.” He smiled, opening the laptop.

Yes, Jenson knew he could rely on me because there was no one better than me in the pack when it came to business. Since this was the last opportunity, I wanted to bang it, leaving Jenson in regret of losing me. I knew that being petty didn't change the situation, but it soothed my mind.

When the meeting ended, it was very late. We had a little talk while having food.

“It turned out well, let’s take a break.” he said at first, “You wanted to visit the scenery of the west coast earlier, let me accompany you there.”

I wanted to visit there on our anniversary, but Jenson didn't come that day. Thinking back, I got to know from Fedrick that it was the time when Ashley divorced. So, Jenson accompanied her that day.

“It's okay.” I chewed some food, “It's not as beautiful as before.”

“Still, Let's go together.” He forced me.

Looking at his intense gaze, I guessed that there was no place for argument. Since the Alpha of the pack, who was always busy, wanted to take me out.

“Well, okay.” Yeah! Let's go together and ended everything for once and all.

The next morning, Jenson woke me up like before when Ashley didn't come.

“It's eleven already.” He passed me a glass of hot water.

“The car is ready, go and get fresh.” He said before leaving.

If Ashley didn't come between us, I didn't need to abort my child. Jenson was not so indifferent to me, I would be thrilled to accompany him but now I didn't feel pleasure anymore. Accompanying him anywhere suffocated me now.

I got down from the bed and pulled out a bodycon. Even after putting on the make up, I still couldn't hide my fragile self.

I caressed my tummy from time to time. Nowadays it had become my habit. But it felt too different knowing I had to let it go.

When I came out, I found Jenson waiting for me.

“Hop in.” He patted the seat beside him. Probably this was the first time, I hesitated for a moment before getting on it.

The ride was smooth and the scenery was healing.

When we reached near the west coast everything was heavenly.

Leaning on a rock, I looked at the water for a long time as if I was lost there.

Jenson, sitting beside me, had his indifferent state.

“Enjoying this?” He looked at me.

“Yeah.” I nodded. Even if the view was nice, the gentle breeze was soothing our body, somehow I couldn't feel any joy.

When I was watching the view, my phone buzzed.

“Who is it?” Jenson looked at me, warily.

“Telecom service.” I mumbled while hanging up the call from the Healer.

“Jenson, I need to use the washroom.” I made an excuse to get away from him.

After a while, when I was alone, I called back.

“Healer Penelope,” I greeted her.

“Luna, did you get the signature? Come tomorrow.” She said in her usual gentle voice.

“Yes, I got it.” My voice was exceptionally firm, “But can I come today?”

“Yeah. But you should think again. Luna, after this I'm afraid you can never conceive again.” Her voice sounded dreadful.

“Don't worry.” I comforted her, “I already think through.”

“Please prepare everything, I will come today.”

Behind me, Jenson stood, hinting his existence with his sandalwood pheromone, “Where will you go?”
