Regretful After Losing Me

I laughed sadly, "Thank you for being willing to forgive me, but I don't need it anymore!"

Yazmin narrowed her eyes, "Finn, as long as you think like a man, open up your mind, and be more generous, I am still willing to marry you. We can get our marriage license tomorrow."

I once kneeled to marry her.

But this time, she was willing to marry me, but I was no longer willing to marry her.

I touched my burning and painful face, "Yazmin, I said we broke up; I won't marry you."

Perhaps because I showed too much love for her before, Yazmin didn't believe I would give up marrying her, especially when she promised me to get our marriage license tomorrow.

She sneered, "What? Don't you want to fulfill your grandma's dying wish?"

I heard a hint of mockery in her words.

But before I could speak, Zaid couldn't wait to jump out and said, "Yazmin, I've said long ago that this guy is deliberately acting to deceive you. If his grandma is really dying, he should be in the hospital taking care of her. How could he deliberately wait for you with luggage here?"

I can't bear it anymore, "Shut up, you have no right to talk about my grandma."

Lucy, on the other end, hesitated for a moment and cautiously said, "Ms. Charles, Mr. Shelton's grandma passed away three days ago on the night you agreed to get your marriage license."

"No way!" Yazmin trembled all over.

She looked at me incredulously and angrily asked, "Why didn't you report such an important matter three days ago?"

Lucy explained with some grievances, "Ms. Charles, you previously stated that Mr. Shelton's personal family matters do not necessitate being reported to you."

I heard the last sentence.

I wasn't surprised. I knew that Yazmin couldn't shake off Zaid in her heart. Zaid was always her top priority; I was merely a backup option.

She has never really cared about me!

After hanging up the phone, Yazmin looked at me, somewhat at a loss. "Finn, I'm really sorry. I didn't know about your grandma... Last time we met, she was fine. I didn't expect her to pass away suddenly."
