I dared not eat the food prepared by Ethan, so I said that I wasn't feeling well.

A few days later, I called his mother, Susan Lewis.

Susan lived alone in her hometown. She had always wanted to come to live with us, but I refused.

Today, I took the initiative to call her. I said, "Susan, Christmas is coming soon. I want to invite you to stay with us for a while. And you can invite your relatives and friends to come with you."
