My Mother-in-law Stole 3 Million and Forced My Whole Family to Die
Chapter 1
In my previous life, my daughter Luna was the top scorer on the SAT, and the school rewarded her with 500 thousand dollars.
But my mother-in-law Martha was biased and transferred all the money to my sister-in-law Helen.
When Luna was in a car accident and urgently needed surgery, Martha and Helen used the prize money to buy a car and a house for my nephew Arthur, watching Luna suffer.
When my husband Daniel Smith and I went to confront the developer, Martha hired some thugs to drag me into an alley and violate me to death in front of Daniel.
When I woke up, I found myself back on the day Luna was checking her exam results.
"I always thought you cheated on your exams. How come others can check their results, but you can't?" Martha sneered while watering flowers.
I looked at the blank score column on the laptop screen.
It dawned on me—I had been reborn!
Martha placed a plate of wilted collard greens on the table, giving Luna and me a disdainful look. "Useless! Go find a job early. Don't bother eating at the table today!"
Listening to her mocking words, I clenched my fists tightly.
Since Daniel and I got married, I knew Martha despised us, but she doted on Helen's family.
When Daniel received his performance bonus, she would spend it on meat and oil for Helen.
The presents we gave her during festivals were immediately handed over to Helen and Arthur for new clothes.
After my father-in-law Scott Smith passed away, Martha moved into our home, relying on us for her living expenses.
Luna, feeling sorry for me, quietly suggested to Daniel that we occasionally send Martha to Helen's house to ease our burden. But Martha slapped her so hard her face swelled.
She called Luna malicious and wished for her death, saying it would be a relief.
Looking at the fierce Martha, I closed the laptop with a snap. "Luna probably didn't pass."
"Didn't pass, yet she eats so many eggs and drinks milk every day. Why spend so much money on a girl?" Martha cursed."
If you have that money, give it to me so I can buy more treats for Arthur!"
I gently patted Luna's back, signaling her not to be upset, and coldly retorted, "I'll protect my precious daughter. The money we earn is naturally for Luna, not to be stolen and given to Helen."
"How dare you talk back?" Martha was furious. "My eldest grandson Arthur is much better than your money-wasting brat. He's going to be a big shot someday. Who do you think you are?"
I knew Martha was biased and only cared about my sister-in-law, Helen Smith.
In my previous life, when Luna's score column was blank, my first thought was she had made it to the top fifty in the state, and I shouted with joy.
Martha took note and snatched the 500,000 dollars prize to give it all to Helen.
And she coldly watched Luna suffer on the operating table, framed me to be violated, and even manipulated her own son.
It was then I realized Martha was real bloodsucker when it comes to money!
Ignoring her, I took Luna to eat, but Martha grabbed the bowl of chicken soup from the table.
"What are you doing?" I questioned.
"Why does a daughter-in-law like you have such a sharp tongue?" Martha yelled, ready to hit me.
After experiencing so much in my previous life, I wasn't afraid anymore.
"This soup is for Luna's health. What will we eat if you take it?"
"Eat, eat, eat! She didn't even pass, and you still want to eat? I'm taking this to Helen's house. You don't deserve it!"
"This is the chicken I bought. Why don't I deserve to eat it? If you eat and drink what I provide, you follow my rules! Otherwise, get out!"
Martha was stunned. She never expected her usually obedient daughter-in-law, me, to confront her today.
She fumed silently for a while, then angrily smashed the bowl and left.
