Reborn in My Bestie’s Womb, We Rose in Power
Chapter 4
Natalie’s face grew more haggard by the day, her temper more volatile.
My best friend, by contrast, had a rosy glow, radiating gentle maternal warmth.
At every ultrasound, I fully cooperated and put on a show.
I even interacted with the Lawson couple as they watched. The doctors were amazed.
"Oh my! It looks like the young master is greeting the old master and madam!"
"Is this the bond of blood? Truly, this child is destined to be with you!"
The couple’s faces flushed with joy. Mrs. Lawson even reached out and gently laid her hand on my bestie’s belly.
Then I did something that stunned everyone.
I stretched out my chubby little hand and pressed against hers, palm to palm, through the belly!
"My dear grandson! We’re touching palm to palm!"
Mrs. Lawson trembled with excitement, tears welling in her eyes as she raised her hand high.
"Look, old man! My grandson was born to love me!"
Grandpa Lawson hurriedly pulled out his phone, snapping picture after picture.
"Record this! Such a clever child, destined to be the Lawson family’s pillar!"
The two were already planning my birthday gift.
Outside the door, Natalie clenched her fists in fury. A twisted smile flashed across her face, as if she had made up her mind.
In the end, Natalie forced herself to go into labor at the same time as my bestie.
We delivered together at the Lawson Group’s private hospital.
I had adjusted my body long before, and the instant my best friend was set on the delivery bed,
I used my hands and feet, sliding out with a “gulp!”
The doctors and nurses froze in shock.
"This—! I’ve never seen a birth so smooth! What an angel baby!"
I cried loudly, lying in my bestie’s arms and winking at her.
[Good Turtle, see how amazing I am!]
She hugged me, crying and laughing. "Yes! My little angel, I love you!"
The Lawson couple rushed to embrace me, and I stopped crying at once.
I held up my tiny rosy hands toward them, bowing repeatedly.
"Look! The young master bowed and greeted his grandparents again! This really is a destined bond!"
Overjoyed, Old Master Lawson thrust a share transfer document into my arms, while the old lady slipped her heirloom jade bracelet onto my bestie’s wrist.
"My dear daughter-in-law, you’ve given our Lawson family great honor!"
Before my bestie could respond, Ethan stormed in.
"Dad, Mom! You should check on Natalie too! She’s in agony and needs the whole family’s support!"
After a few instructions, the old couple left for the next ward.
Inside, Natalie screamed in misery.
Hearing that my bestie had delivered in under twenty seconds only made her more desperate to compete.
When the doctor warned the baby was large and might need a C-section, she refused outright.
But the malposition nearly caused a massive hemorrhage.
After a night of torment, her child was finally born.
Natalie lay half-dead, utterly drained. The hospital buzzed with gossip: the Lawson family had two grandsons—one a grateful angel baby, the other a debt collector.
Grandpa Lawson, in high spirits, named me Alexander Lawson, symbolizing wisdom, brilliance, and initiative.
He named Natalie’s son Lucas, because he cried endlessly.
Natalie fumed, while my bestie beamed, hugging and kissing me.
"Good baby, that’s wonderful!"
But I stayed cautious, knowing Natalie had deliberately timed her delivery with mine for her own schemes.
