Chapter 1

I was Kaden Foster’s walking blood bank.

He once said that after he recovered, he would marry me, so I willingly gave my blood for three years.

Until I got pregnant. And was diagnosed with liver cancer.

Faced with the choice between treatment and losing the baby, or keeping the baby and dying for sure, I chose to secretly keep the child.

When my belly became too big to hide, he grabbed me by the neck and roared, “Who gave you permission to carry my child? Your blood belongs to Sabrina. Your life does too!”

Turns out, he was never sick. He never cared if I lived or died.

Because I got pregnant, Sabrina Wilson jumped off a building and died.

He didn’t care that she was already dead; he tied my ten-year-old brother to an operating table and forced blood from him.

My brother died from too much blood loss.

I was desperate. I tried to end the pregnancy to save myself.

But he locked me up and let the cancer spread, dragging me to the edge of death.

When I was barely holding on, he told the doctors, “Keep her alive, just enough. Cut the baby out. I want her to watch everyone she loves die, one by one.”

He watched coldly as both my baby and I died.

Then he ordered our ashes dumped into the sewer.

When I opened my eyes again, I was back on the day I found out I was pregnant.

This time, I smiled and told the doctor, "I want an abortion."

——

"Miss Harris, your uterine lining is very thin. After the procedure, it may be difficult for you to conceive again..."

The doctor’s words stopped when she looked at the results of my physical exam.

She went silent for a few seconds, then asked me to call a family member.

I calmly told her I wanted an abortion to save my life.

In my last life, when I learned I was pregnant, I held my flat stomach, smiling like a fool.

Even though the doctor warned me many times that the pregnancy would make the cancer spread faster, I still chose to keep the child without a second thought.

All because I wanted to give Kaden a child.

I even prayed in secret that the baby's umbilical cord blood could cure him.

Lying on the cold operating table, the only thing on my mind was the image of Kaden hurting me.

Pain twisted through my lower stomach, but compared to the pain of cancer in my past life, this was nothing.

Dragging my weak body out of the operating room, a familiar voice made me freeze.

I saw Kaden in a sharp suit, with the petite Sabrina holding onto his arm, walking out of the VIP consultation room.

Instinctively, I stepped into a corner to hide.

"Kaden, I feel so dizzy..."

"Hold on a bit longer. I’ll call Reese to come donate blood."

His voice was so gentle it could melt, just like when he used to coax me into donating before.

"Kaden, what if Reese finds out the truth? Are you really going to marry her? What about me?"

Kaden laughed and kissed her forehead.

"Silly girl, it’s her blessing to give you blood. I’ve been her boyfriend for three years. That’s more than enough. How could I ever really marry her?"

Even though I had expected it, hearing it with my own ears still made it hard to breathe.

Suddenly, my phone buzzed in my pocket.

Panicking, I rushed into the restroom but accidentally hit the answer button.

"Reese, where are you?"

"I’m not feeling well. Can you come to the hospital?"

Kaden’s voice came through soft and weak, but it made my whole body turn cold.

In my past life, I was completely fooled by this act.

I willingly became a walking blood bank for three years.

Even when I got pregnant, I kept it from him and let the doctors keep drawing blood.

Reborn in this life, I refused to be used again.

Without a word, I hung up.

When I left the restroom and hurried to leave the hospital, I ran right into Kaden at the elevator.
