Real and Fake Patient: My Wife is Dying
Chapter 3
Noticing I kept silent, Valery thought that I was unwilling to get a divorce and just wanted to drag her down. She added, "Don't expect me to give you any money. Let me tell you, I don't have a penny."
I pause for a moment and can't help but ask, "How could it be? What about your salary?"
Valery acts as if she had expected it. "So you're really after my money. To be honest, I helped my younger brother pay off his mortgage with all my savings."
Feeling that what she said was not harsh enough, Valery was afraid that I wouldn't agree to a divorce. She added, "Let me tell you. I never liked you. The only reason I married you was because of your parents. Your parents died long before, and I don't need to take care of them. I was so glad that they died long before and left you with a house, a car, and many savings.
"If it weren't for the fact that there weren't outstanding men around me at that time, do you think I would have chosen you? I'm just glad that we don't have children, otherwise, I would be dragged down by you."
I thought Valery and I fell in love naturally, and she had always been soft and lovely in front of me. It was the first time I had seen this side of her, and I was so shocked that I was so speechless.
She knew that the death of my parents was a lifelong pain for me, but she actually said that she was glad about my parents' death. If it weren't for her physical condition and my great strength, I wouldn't let her go.
I had nowhere to vent my anger, so I slammed the table heavily. The glass panel on the table shattered and my hand was injured and bleeding. Only then did Valery become a little scared and hugged herself, saying, "I'm telling you, don't touch me. If you dare do anything, my brother will kill you."
Valery wanted to say something else, but seeing my unpleasant expression and my tightly clenched fist, she was afraid that I would hurt her. Finally, she picked up her bag and phone and left the house.
