My Mother-in-law Asked Me To Raise A Baby for Someone Else
My Mother-in-law Asked Me To Raise A Baby for Someone Else Chapter 1
I just got home and heard a baby crying in the bedroom.
I wondered and quickened my pace to the door of my bedroom.
I saw Vincent Reed and Pamela Reed, the parents of my husband, Zach Reed, standing by the bed, the baby boy in Pamela's arms crying loudly.
A baby girl was lying on the bed, looking at the crying child in Pamela's arms with tears in her eyes.
Vincent and Pamela were frantically trying to comfort the two babies. Pamela looked up and saw me standing at the bedroom door.
She urged me, "Taylor, what are you standing there for? Bring me the diaper from the cabinet!"
I didn't react for a moment and hurriedly handed the diaper to Pamela.
But Pamela didn't take it over. She pulled the baby and yelled at me, "Open it!"
I could hear the babies' heart-wrenching cry, and I opened the diaper with a frown.
Pamela held the baby boy and asked me to take off his diaper.
I had no experience in parenting and didn't like children. I had no good feelings towards these two babies of unknown origin, let alone changing their diapers.
So, I took a step back and handed the diaper to Vincent.
"Vincent, please give Pamela a hand."
I then pushed Vincent in front of Pamela. He wanted to refuse, but the baby in Pamela's arms was struggling uncomfortably.
Vincent looked disgusted and almost pinched his nose as he changed the diaper, then rushed to the bathroom to wash his hands.
Pamela glared at me unhappily.
I was puzzled. "Who these two babies are? Why did you bring them home?"
Pamela was coaxing the babies to sleep softly and winked at me to be quiet.
After the two babies fell asleep, she asked Vincent to go in and look after them. Then, she walked to the living room and pulled me over to sit on the sofa.
She asked me in a friendly manner, "Taylor, are these two babies cute?"
I hated children, especially when they cried, which made my temples almost explode.
Faced with the extension of Pamela's expectations, I could only nod.
Pamela breathed a sigh of relief. "As long as you like them."
I immediately felt something was wrong and raised my voice. "What do you mean? Where did these two babies come from?"
Before I could finish my words, Pamela slapped her thigh and put her index finger on her mouth.
"Shh! Keep your voice down. I just put them to sleep!
"They are the babies born to your brother in the countryside."
My heart skipped a beat, and I immediately had a bad feeling.
Pamela happily pulled my hand and said, "Aren't you doing that thing? Double income, and what?"
I frowned and added, "No kids."
"Yes. Don't you want no kids because you're afraid of having them?
"Now that your brother has given birth to two babies for you, you can raise them so that you will have someone to rely on when you are old."
Pamela held my hand and looked like she was concerned about me.
I snorted coldly, thinking it was ridiculous.
"Pamela, when I first married Zach, I said we wouldn't have children, and you all agreed."
If I had known this would happen, I wouldn't marry Zach.
Pamela advised me earnestly, "Oh, you are still too young. What will you do when you are old without children?"
I immediately asked back, "So do I have to raise someone else's kids and be the scapegoat?"
"What are you talking about? That's your brother's kids. We're all family. How can you say you're a scapegoat?"
Pamela was actually a little unhappy.
"These two babies should go back to where they came from. I have no obligation to raise them. If you like them, take them back to your hometown and raise them yourself."
With that, I ignored Pamela's gloomy face and walked straight to my bedroom.
When I got to the door, I remembered that the babies and Vincent were still inside, so I turned back to Pamela.
"I'm going to bed after I take a shower. Don't put the babies in my bedroom."
