Prince Recovers His Memory and Abandons Me
Chapter 9
I was in so much pain and so scared.
I stayed in Boston for a week.
The medicine was no longer effective, so I had to go back to Alabama to see a doctor.
After coming out of the hospital, I felt extremely calm.
Maybe because no one in this world cared about me, so I felt like it didn't matter if I died.
I even wondered how long I would live.
The doctor said that the medicine he prescribed wouldn't last long, so I might need to rest at home.
Then I would visit another place.
After the trip, I would quietly wait to die at home.
My flight would leave at 6 o'clock in the evening.
After I finished lunch, Nathan, who hadn't contacted me for half a month, called me.
After hesitating for a moment, I still answered the call.
He asked me to meet up. Thinking that this might be our last meeting, I decided to go.
His cheeks were hollow and there were dark circles under his eyes. His handsome face was still charming, but he wasn't as lively as before.
He handed a check to me.
"Here is 10 million dollars. Thank you for taking care of me for the past three years."
My strong attachment to him suddenly subsided. When I looked down, he pulled his hand back.
I looked at him calmly.
Actually, I should be angry.
But I was about to die. I was facing a life-and-death situation here. So, those grievances became less important.
All I thought about was how good he was to me.
So I couldn't help but think for him.
I pushed the check back and said, "No need."
I'm afraid you will regret treating me like this, and you will be sad.
