My Pretend-to-Be-Poor Boyfriend Discovers I'm a Hidden Heiress
Chapter 6
The next day was a joint social event for Class 1 and Class 2, to be held at a mountain villa with a party.
As the phone rang, I was just stepping out of the dorm building. Hugh, standing under the tree, had a smile in his eyes and his lips slightly moved.
His clear voice came through the receiver. "Good morning, Taylor."
My heart raced excitedly. I hung up the phone, unable to suppress the grin on my face, showing all my teeth as I bounced down the steps.
I quickly dashed towards Hugh, leaping into his chest.
Embracing his slim waist, I couldn't help but let out an embarrassing sigh.
Hugh chuckled softly, his chest vibrating.
I held him tightly, excited like a big mother monkey, swaying side to side, my voice ridiculously high-pitched.
"Good morning, Hugh!"
I finally hopped onto the back of Hugh's bicycle.
He was so thoughtful, wrapping a thick cloth to make a soft cushion.
When we arrived at the meeting spot in front of the library, I heard mocking laughter from the crowd as soon as I got off the bike.
Perhaps you've heard the sound of a dozen gas canisters leaking?
"Did they even come to the party? Did they pay? Can they afford it?"
I glanced at Hugh; he was frowning, trying to hide his embarrassment. Clearly, he hadn't expected the party to require payment.
My heart ached, and I opened my mouth to suggest we could just go for a lakeside day trip on campus.
Hugh looked at me, his brow immediately relaxing. He ruffled my head and said soothingly, "Don't worry."
A familiar voice rang out from the crowd. "Hey! Hugh's here. Don't worry about the expenses; I'll cover it!"
The crowd parted, revealing a sparkling Lamborghini in the center. Amy was leaning against it, hand on the roof.
Gucci Guy had his arm around her waist, with an exaggerated Gucci tote bag slung over his shoulder.
After striking enough poses, Gucci Guy patted his stomach and made a gesture to invite Amy, who walked over in her eight-centimeter heels.
I stared at the car, feeling inexplicably familiar.
