Pregnant When My Boyfriend Came Back

My boyfriend suddenly posted something on his Instagram.

[I’ve offered my body and soul to the country.]

I was about to ask what he meant when he sent me a plane ticket to the northwest.

He explained that the mission was confidential and that he could not be in contact with me during this time.

Ten months passed.

He was supposed to be away, but he came home unexpectedly and caught me at a prenatal checkup.

When he saw my eight-month-pregnant belly, his face turned pale with anger. “I’ve been gone for ten months. How are you pregnant?”

I shrugged and said, “Weren’t you supposed to be gone for three years? Why are you back after just ten months?”

My boyfriend, Nathan Bardot, stared at me in disbelief. “I’m asking about the baby in your belly! What’s going on?

“I’ve been gone for ten months. If you got pregnant the moment I left, you should have already given birth by now. Explain yourself! What’s really going on?”

He grabbed my wrist tightly. I felt a sharp pain and tried to pull away.

His face darkened, and he tightened his grip. I got annoyed and snapped, “Are you crazy? I’m pregnant! What’s there to explain?”

“Harriet, you got pregnant while I wasn’t home! You won’t even tell me whose child it is?”

Before I could respond, he slapped me across the face.

I stared at him in shock. I instinctively shielded my belly.

“Nathan, how dare you hit me? Do you want to end up in jail? I’m warning you, this baby wasn’t easy for me to conceive. If you lay a hand on me again and something happens to the baby, I won’t let you off the hook.”

Nathan suddenly started laughing. “That baby is illegitimate. All the better if it’s gone!

“Harriet, I must’ve been way too nice to you all these years. How dare you fight with me, your partner, over an illegitimate baby? Is this how you repay me?

“You cheated, and you still think you were right!”

His yelling drew a crowd. A man stepped forward and blocked him as he tried to come at me again.

Nathan froze for a moment and then sneered. “So, you’re the father of the baby, huh?”

The man looked surprised. Before he could say anything, Nathan threw a punch. The man did not hold back and hit him right back.

Nathan covered his face and shouted, “Alright, I see how it is! Everyone, come look at this pair of cheaters! This piece of trash got my girlfriend pregnant, and now, he dares to hit me!”

The man punched him again. “That’s nonsense! I just can’t stand you hitting a pregnant woman. Stop spreading lies!”

Nathan paused and realized that he had hit the wrong person. But he pointed at the man and said, “So, you’re just a good guy, huh? Fine! When your girlfriend gets pregnant by another man, I’ll protect her like this too!”

The man was about to hit him, but he suddenly realized something was off with what Nathan had just said.

The crowd shifted their attention to me. Nathan pointed at me and shouted, “You witch! How could you do this to me?”

Just then, my mother-in-law, Beatrice Bardot, entered. She was holding my report. She looked at the crowd and asked, “What’s going on here?”

Beatrice saw Nathan looking distraught. Her face lit up with excitement. “Nathan! You’re back! Perfect timing! Harriet’s about to give birth, and now, you can meet the baby!”

Nathan looked at Beatrice in disbelief. “Mom? You know about the baby in her belly?”

“Of course, I know! I’ve been taking care of her since she got pregnant!” Beatrice said proudly. “Why are you crying on such a joyous occasion?

“The fortune teller told me I’m going to get a grandson!

“Before, I thought Harriet was always busy with her company and didn’t understand her role as a partner. But now, she’s taking a huge step to have a baby. I’m so happy!”

Beatrice grew more excited with every word. She was completely unaware of how devastated Nathan looked.

“Once the baby is born, Harriet can stay at home with the child, and you can take over her company.”

Beatrice got even happier, but Nathan slapped her across the face.

“You ungrateful jerk! How dare you hit me? I’m your mother!” Beatrice reacted quickly and yelled at him.

Nathan’s eyes turned red with rage. “The child in her belly isn’t even mine!”
