Pregnant Sister-in-law Reaps the Consequences
Chapter 2
Katie was horrified and went pale.
Miranda slammed her hand on the table. "You old hag, what are you saying?!"
I added, "She said you're an ugly toad, dressed up like a peacock and always playing around. You should look in the mirror and check what you look like before acting so vain."
"You!"
Miranda rolled her eyes and pretended to faint. Katie had to apologize again and again, complimenting her on both outfits. Finally, Katie gave her 500 dollars. Only then did Miranda feel better.
With the lessons from my past life, I wouldn't even give them any chance to team up against me. I had to stir up trouble to make them fight against each other.
"Fine, you've got some sense. You don't need to cook for me tonight. I'm going out with friends to the bar." Miranda washed her hair, applied heavy makeup, and left in a short skirt, slamming the door behind her.
Katie, collapsing onto the floor, cried, "It's such a calamity! I must have been cursed to have such a troublemaker marry into our family."
Katie called Camron, who was away on a business trip. Upon hearing her voice, he hung up immediately. Katie then turned to me. "I'm worried. You have to follow Miranda. If anything happens to my future grandson, I can't bear it."
I groaned and clutched my stomach, running to the bathroom and locking the door, refusing to come out.
Katie panicked, saying that I wouldn't be able to catch up with Miranda.
"Then you can go with her, Mom. That's your future grandchild!"
Katie hesitated at first, but when she saw I wouldn't come out, she gritted her teeth and went after Miranda.
Did she think I was that foolish?
If something went wrong, it would be my fault.
I lay on the sofa, enjoying the air conditioning and checking Miranda's social media updates.
She was a peculiar one, always announcing her activities to the world, especially when going out.
Miranda posted: [Other pregnant women are so fussy. It's just an e-cigarette, easily handled.]
[Roller coasters are nothing. My son is moving around happily. Looks like he's excited.]
[Next stop, Frisbee Ride. George, hold on to the umbilical cord. Mom's going to make you swing!]
Later, I waited for a long time but saw no updates.
Just as I was contemplating, Katie called, wailing, "Aleena Murray! It's terrible! Miranda had an accident!"
