Chapter 1

NATALIA:

"My Luna..."

I looked at the omega with a suspicious gaze. Not because he regarded me, but because of the way he did it. His expression suggested that something was off and the fact that he had his hands behind him made it worse.

"Where are you going?" I asked him. It should be none of my business as I just got back from a walk to exercise my heavily pregnant body — being eight months in was no joke at all — but I needed to quench my suspicion.

"The Alpha sent me on an errand," the omega responded while avoiding eye contact with me and it only grew my suspicion.

"To do what?" I pressed further.

"To deliver a package."

"What package?"

"The alpha said not to mention."

I smiled, my eyes darting toward my own omega that was waiting for me ahead right after I had signalled to her. When I noticed she had her gaze completely away from where I stood, I focused back on the man in front of me.

"What's that you have behind you?" I queried the omega whose hands were still behind him. "Is that the package?"

For the first time since I got in front of him, the omega looked up at me. But it was only for a brief second before his eyes went down to the ground again.

"It is, my Luna," he responded.

"Alright then. Hand it over to me let me take a look."

I could sense the omega's skepticism to hand over the package but he wouldn't dare go against me. I could have his head right there as I stood and it wouldn't cost me anything.

It took a bit longer than expected but the omega eventually gave me the item he had with him. His hands were shaking as he did so and it gave me an idea of how much threat he must have received from my husband.

The package was something wrapped in a brown paper. It had on it the inscription 'To My Love' and this made me more confused than curious.

"Are you sure it was my husband that gave you this package to give out?" I had to ask the omega so I could attain clarity. I was in a state of incomprehension and that was the only way I could make this make sense.

"Yes, Luna," the omega said.

I nodded. And to get into the depth of this matter, I tore open the package forcefully which actually affected my protruded belly in some way. It made me a bit dizzy but I stood my ground.

My action generated a reaction from the omega who gasped in surprise but I ignored him. It was right at that time that something fell out of the torn brown paper and I looked down to see that it was a white piece of paper.

"Pick that up now," I instructed the omega before I decided to take a good look at the parcel I had with me after tearing the brown paper used to wrap it.

The parcel was a box of jewelry. And it wasn't just any jewelery. I didn't need someone else's eyes to realize that it was a gold jewelry with a diamond piece which screamed just how expensive the jewelry was.

This couldn't be for me, could it? My husband knows I don't fancy gold jewelries. Instead, I preferred sapphires. Who then could he be trying to gift a jewelery as expensive as this?

I had my hand stretched toward the omega who immediately put the piece of paper that had dropped earlier. I had a bad feeling about the content of the paper which actually made me feel tense. However, I knew I had to see what was in it if I needed to get my head out of this dilemma.

'Enjoy your birthday gift, love. I cannot wait for us to welcome our child into this world together.'

That was what the content of the paper read which was written boldly in my husband's handwriting. Yes, I'm pregnant with my husband's child but if he wanted to give me a gift, he didn't need to send an omega. He could easily gift me himself since we stay inside the same building.

I began to think it was some sort of mistake from the omega and wanted to question him about it until I decided to take another look at the content of the piece of paper.

'Dear Chloe' was what was right atop the piece of paper. How had I missed it in the first place?

This doesn't sound right. My name isn't Chloe. I'm Natalia and my husband knows that.

All of a sudden, it began to click. It was making so much sense in my head now. The omega's skepticism, the expensive gold jewelry that had a diamond piece in it and wasn't exactly my taste, an unfamiliar name that definitely didn't match mine...

My husband was cheating on me!
