Playboy's Failure: Falling In Love With His Secretary
Chapter 7
The smokey atmosphere, the loud music playing at the end of the stage, the various colors of disco lights, and the men's screams as they sipped the drink she couldn't name.
That was the first thing Margaux saw when she stepped into the sinful disco bar.
Margaux clung so tightly to her jacket as she struggled to blend in with the bodies that didn't care if they were touched.
Margaux tried to avoid them, but the second time her body was hit by an unknown personality, she backed away but also came to a halt as to what she was doing when her back collided with a sturdy body that looked like a concrete object that could not be broken even by the storm.
Unexpectedly, she looked up to see who that man was, only to find Declan frowning at her.
"How come you always took a step back?"
The man inquired, and it was only then that Margaux realized Declan had already grasped both of her shoulders, holding them for support so she wouldn't fall to her feet.
Then Declan steered her to the right path of facing him.
"..ugh! I — I..." How is she going to express her dissatisfaction with the situation? She couldn't look Declan in the eyes and instead concentrated on her feet.
He gradually let go of her, but he never took his gaze away from her. Declan's eyes narrowed as he looked down at her mini skirt.
"Why are you... w-wearing a..." Declan clenched his left fist in his mouth before coughing, "—skirt that can see your legs. Men here are dangerous. They are wild when it comes to releasing body heat."
Margaux became alarmed at the sudden appearance of danger. She rolled her eyes at the whole thing and noticed a few men staring at her as if they were about to strip her naked.
Margaux flinched from the terror in her body; if she hadn't felt Declan's grip on her side again and turned her without hesitation to bring the body closer to the man, Margaux wouldn't have been able to look away from those men who chased lust after the flesh.
She raised her eyes to Declan, who was now staring down at her.
"Don't worry, don't be scared; you're with me, and once those assholes see that I'm holding you, they'll eventually turn away from you."
Margaux was still nervous. "H-how did you say that?" Declan then gave her a reassuring smile.
Margaux couldn't help but wonder once more. Declan has given her a genuine smile for the second time.
"Why don't you look around and see for yourself, Margaux?" said the young man, and she immediately regained her sight, proving Declan correct.
It felt like a gunshot wound to the men who had suddenly averted their gaze and were now preoccupied.
"Now get going."
She returned her gaze to the young man, puzzled, "huh?"
"Go ahead, you walk first, and I'll just follow."
"But, w-why—"
"Just do it, okay?" she heard the irritation in its tone. "Why are you asking so many more questions?"
Margaux simply turned away, as she didn't want to argue any longer. She no longer felt detached, as if she were about to be slaughtered by the looks men were throwing her way.
But, once again, the deadly stare of the women in the distance was striking. Margaux simply ignored it, as she was no longer interested.
"Declan!" yelled a man ahead of Margaux, and she couldn't place who it was. But it wasn't until she got closer that she realized who that voice belonged to.
Declan's closest companions were Lucifer Bennington and his twin Tanner.
She suddenly shrank back, especially as the men stared her down from head to toe.
Declan, Lucifer, and Tanner exchange a man hug before a fist bump, and Margaux turns around as Declan's two friends looked at her.
She recognized them because they had both witnessed Declan's rejection of her proposal at the time.
Declan seemed to be teasing Margaux. It demonstrates to his friends that Declan can easily command her obedience while also insulting her at any time.
"You really included Margaux, bud. Hahaha why is that?" Declan just smiled before turning to face her.
"Sit, Margaux," the young man said, giving her a cynical look before screamed out loud.
Margaux's feathers were healed as a result of what they did. It was as if she was betting, and she imagined them secretly giving each other a money when she was no longer in front of them.
Margaux eventually decided to return home. She returned her attention to the one she and Declan were going through. Maybe she won't vanish if she goes all the way to the end by herself, right?
Margaux turned to face the young man, while Declan was conversing with Lucifer and Tanner, who were now sipping the newly released sourdest drink that was already on the table for them.
Then Margaux coughed to get Declan's attention, and it didn't take her long to turn it around.
"Do you need anything, Margaux?" Declan turned to face her and placed his hand slightly in front of her and on her face, causing her to hold her breath.
"C-can I-I go to the comfort room?" she may ask, and the truth is that she is really going home at that point.
Declan stood up and stared at the very dark room with the very spacious cubicle, which surprised Margaux.
"L-go, let's and I'll accompany you—"
"No, let me do it!" exclaimed the young man, turning his head to face her.
"You don't know every nook and cranny of this place, Margaux; men are now in the—"
"Can I be myself?"
"No, you are not—"
"I can do whatever the hell I want!" What Margaux really doesn't want is for someone to get in the way of her decision.
Declan moaned before averting his gaze, returning to his seat, and ignoring her.
Margaux bit her lower lip uncomfortably, despite Declan's refusal to let her leave.
Then, all of a sudden, one of the twins turned to her. She only knew who it was because of the t-shirt they were wearing with the name printed on the front.
Lucifer was one of the twins who approached her. Instead, he gave her a friendly smile.
"Go Margaux, Declan was just... uhmm...mad!" Margaux nodded and turned away.
Because she had already stepped on her feet, she had no idea what Declan's reaction would be.
Margaux felt as if she was being watched with each step she took, but she ignored it and kept on walking.
Because of the music that swayed their hips, she was already engulfed by people dancing. Margaux looked over at Declan's table, but they were no longer visible.
She smiled because she realized she could finally go home at that point.
Margaux's smile vanished as quickly as it had appeared. Three men stood in her way, staring at her like mad dogs.
Their tongues were still protruding from their mouths, and a smirk was plastered across their faces, terrifying her entire body.
She was about to flee to cross the street when they apprehended her. Margaux yelled for help, but no one came to her aid as she suffered at the hands of the three men, as if something bad was in store for her.
Along with the very loud ringing of disco sounds, there was a very loud shout from Margaux. However, everyone else was still dancing, and no one seemed to notice her screams.
The men dragged Margaux to a location where she had lost track of the disco bar.
Margaux couldn't figure out why she was crying in the middle of the night.
"D-Declan! Release me, Declan help!" she yelled, but no one came to her aid.
As she sobbed, she could hear the men's deafening laughter.
A man let go of her hand in order to caress her leg with his fingers.
"N-no! N-no! Please, please. H-have mercy, please! Let me go."
Two other men were holding both of her arms, and it wasn't until she realized she was in a sinful room that she realized what was going on.
She screamed and sobbed for assistance. Margaux then felt a hand on her womanhood.
"Nooooooooo!"
Margaux's attention was drawn to the door because of a loud bang.
Declan was standing in the door jamb, fist clenched, looking at her lying on the bed and being molested by men lusting after flesh.
"D-Declan......" She stiffened. Her heart was pounding at a rapid pace. The men have also stopped molesting her and are now staring at a young man whose face cannot be printed.
"M-Margaux..." Declan said as he looked at the men who were molesting her.
The young man clenched his fists at the criminals who were about to rape her because of the speed of events. Margaux screamed as she was not used to seeing such a sensitive commotion in front of her.
Declan's face darkened as he looked at the man who had suddenly scrambled out of the room and even hit his head on the partition of the wall.
Declan's gaze was drawn to her, and he approached her slowly, bowed, and knelt to check on her.
Margaux couldn't help but embrace the young man. Sobbing.
Margaux wasn't sure if she was holding his breath because her hug was so tight, but the young man didn't complain.
"T-Thank you, D-Declan; I-I'm not sure what's going on with me right now if you don't come."
Declan was deafeningly quiet. Instead, he simply allowed her to embrace the young man too tightly.
"I told you, it's dangerous for a woman to walk around without any resistance to men who crave flesh, and you..." He paused. Margaux was also relieved by Declan's voice, which indicated that he was...angry but concerned.
"You're so stubborn, Margaux... You're so stubborn that I just want to smack my head against the wall; what if I don't come? What's wrong with you now—"
Margaux manages to speak up in between sobs.
"I'm s-sorry.... I-I really want to go home, b-because I really am not comfortable with the place Declan." Finally she had said it all.
"Bullshit! Why didn't you just tell me first hand?"
Margaux simply closed her eyes due to Declan's scream. Margaux just hugged Declan even tighter around his massive frame. "I... I just had an idea—"
"—Are you going home alone? Am I right there?" She didn't respond.
For a brief moment, the surroundings were deafeningly quiet. She was startled when Declan grabbed her arms and wrapped them around her body and stood up.
She was afraid of being left in the room and knew she didn't deserve to be there.
When Margaux noticed Declan, he immediately removed his coat and wrapped it around her thighs.
For some reason, and for the first time, she just looked at the young man as he did that. Declan made her feel secure.
Today, he isn't the Declan who teases her all the time, but the Declan who genuinely wants to protect her.
Margaux later realized that her buttocks had simply risen away from the bed as a result of the young man's load.
"Let's go home," he said, but Margaux was speechless and couldn't respond.
Margaux's system was still filled with fear and nervousness, especially when she heard the horrifying voices of those men who wanted to move her even further.
For the first time, she appreciates Declan's assistance.
Margaux feels safe in his care for the first time.
They didn't agree on many things, but at the time, she wanted to thank Declan for saving her from the hands of those men who were planning to do unnecessary things to her.
