Chapter 5

EVELYN

The next three days and I still can't get my mind off the handsome man I met at the club.

"Ugh!" I sighed as I rubbed my face with my palms. No, this is... My thoughts were cut short when Ava started hitting me with a pillow.

"Get your ass off, sleepyhead. It's almost five."

"I'm awake, Ava," I shielded my face with my arms. "Did you say five? Wasn't it twelve noon just five minutes ago? Time went up so fast." I sat up quickly.

"Yes, Eve. What do you expect? Perks of being jobless," Ava snorted, making me roll my eyes. "Anyways, we're going to a fashion event at ATU. It starts by six. We can be present by seven or eight, we don't have to be early."

"What's ATU?" I asked, stretching my body. My eyes went to the wall clock for a moment.

Five O Five. Damn! That was a long ass afternoon nap. I have to take my job hunt seriously once this weekend is over.

"I don't know the full meaning, but Blake and Sean are doing their masters there. Probably some university, when we get there, we will find out."

In an hour plus, we were done dressing up. I was on a long flower dress with thigh high slit while Ava wore body con mini dress with cut-outs on her belly sides.

"It seems like we would be one of the early attendees."

"Who said so? I haven't even started my makeup yet."

"Ava." I groaned sitting back on the bed.

"Yes baby. Sit tight. I've got to look hot."

We finally got to... Atlantic Technological University. I found out the full meaning at the entrance.

"Ohh, heyyy guys." Ava greeted the minute we got to Sean and Blake's table.

"I was thinking you both won't be coming again." Sean said, looking at me first. He stood up and drew out a chair for me. Blake doing the same for Ava.

"Why? Has the event ended?"

"Yeah, almost. One last runway show and it's over."

I shot Ava a withering look. "All thanks to your sister."

"Sorry baby. At least we made to the last show." Ava mumbled, smiling at me weirdly.

"But, there's an after-party." Blake chipped in as he filled out glasses with wine.

"Yippee!" Ava jammed her hands together.

The models who walked on the runway all wore beautiful pieces. I could not stop myself from taking pictures of the spectacular ones.

Yeah, hopefully when the money starts coming in the future, I would be able to get them.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, we have come to the end of today's fashion event. We appreciate all the sponsors, the students and every single one of you for making tonight a huge success. However, it's not fully over yet, the after party just started." The moderator's voice boomed.

The ballroom was filled with cheers. Ava, Blake and a few others made it to the dance floor as soon as the music came up.

"Evelyn, let's join them." Sean brought his hand forward, opening his palm.

It wouldn't hurt to dance with him. I thought as I took his hand with a smile on my face.

"You look stunning, as always, Eve." Sean said when we began moving on the dance floor. His hands on my waist, my hands on his shoulders.

"Thank you."

"Sorry to ask, I don't mean to pry though. I know you're engaged but I happen not to see any ring on your finger."

Fuck! Why did I forget to put on my fake ring?

"Uhmmm..." I was about saying that I left it back home at Toronto even though it sounded stupid, when a man walked up to us.

"Sean, sorry to interrupt."

"James, is there a problem?" Sean paused with our dance, his hands still circled arms my waist.

"Professor Corden wants to see you."

Sean's hands came off my waist. "Did something happen?"

"Yeah, somehow. We couldn't find your designs. I think she wants to show them to one of tonight's sponsors. I heard her saying yours was one of the best."

"Woah," Sean's almost scared look turned into a mixture of astonishment and excitement. "That's... I'm coming right away," he turned to me. "I'll be right back, Eve."

"Sure, I'd be waiting. Congratulations." I squeezed his hands gently.

"Thank you." He walked away with James, who I suppose should be his course mate.

"Pheww." I breathed a sigh of relief. That was so close. I was happy for Sean. This would be a huge milestone for him if the said sponsor gives him a job.

But I was more happier now 'cause I don't get to answer his last question. I pray he gets so overly excited that he doesn't remember to ask that when he returns.

A man's voice said from behind me. "So, we meet again."

I spun around, looking up at the person speaking and...

It was the Greek god from the club. Whoops! Why are my palms getting sweaty? Evelyn , calm the fuck down. Can't you be composed for once?

He was dressed in another suit, this time dark blue. I was able to see him more clearly than we first met. He was tall, his hair was short, dark and curly. His eyes, so blue I could drown in them. His nose, pointed. His tiny lips pleading to be kissed thoroughly. Infact his face was carved out of stone. If his looked this perfect I wonder how other parts would be.

I could literally swear that only seeing him made my inside tingle, my panties wet.

Wait, does he know I'd be here? I sobered up. What if he's a stalker as Sean said the other time.

I brushed off the thought immediately. I wasn't even all that for a man like him to monitor my movements.

Maybe he was a student...or perhaps even a sponsor. He sure does looked like the latter.

"Hey... Hello." I finally said when I found my voice back.

"Do you mind?" He asked for a dance.

"No...no, not at all. I remember I owe you one." I wasted no time in taking his hand.

When his hands came around my waist, I felt so giggily. I hoped he didn't notice that.

"Who's the designer behind what you're wearing?" He took a full glance at my gown.

"My dress?" I wanted to laugh. Designer? For a dress my mom bought from a local store.

"Yes."

"Ohh," I laughed nervously. "I have no idea. It belonged to my mom."

"And you're a fashion student?" He cocked his eyebrow.

"I'm not. I was invited by my best friend's brother who happens to be one."

"Alright, that's fair," He spun me around, my back behind him. His breath on my neck made me shut my eyes for a few seconds.

What was this man doing to me? I feel so glued, so willing. I didn't want this dance to end anytime soon.

When I opened them, it was Ava's wide eyes that I met. I smiled at her before he made me face him again. "So I guess, you won't be staying here for long then"

"Not really unless you think four months is a short period."

"Your accent, American?"

"Nope, Canadian, from Toronto."

"That's nice to know. We..." His sentence was cut short when his phone beeped. "I'm sorry. That was my alarm," he said bringing out his phone and turning the sound off. "I have to be somewhere in the next few minutes."

"No issues."

"I can compensate with a dinner tomorrow night. What do you say?"

"Yeah, sure." No woman in her right senses could possibly tell this man no. There was something about his voice that made me want to do anything he wants. I was just answering his questions as he asked.

"Ahh, good. Put your address and phone number here." He said giving me his phone.

I frantically typed in 132 Wisconsin Estate. Thank goodness I took note of it this evening before coming here. I also typed my phone number, the two of them in case one didn't go through.

Yes, I was that needy, that desperate.

Then I handed him his phone back.

"Jesse, my driver would pick you up by seven." He said walking away.

I just remembered I didn't even ask him any questions, not even his name. It was now that he wasn't close to me that I got a hold of myself. "Wait, I didn't get your name."

"Ian. My name is Ian."

I couldn't even process the swirl of emotions I was feeling at the moment when Ava put her arm around my shoulder.

"It's the man from the club?"

"Yes, Ava." I put my hand on my beating chest.

"Damn! The club lights didn't do justice to his appearance."

"He asked me out to dinner. It's tomorrow though."

"You said yes, right?"

"I... I did."

"Yayyy! My best friend's got a new dick!" Ava cheered, hugging me tightly. "I have enough time to prep you up to be fucked!" She added, grinning wickedly.
