No Heir for Cheating Alpha

Ivana was expecting their first child, after more than five years of waiting, when suddenly a text message ruined everything.

"I can’t wait for this baby, but right now, I’m more excited to have you by my side."

That message popped up on her husband, Alpha Caleb Maverick's phone, the alpha of the Summerstone Pack. Ivana usually didn't check Caleb's phone, but this time, some mysterious force made her curious. She checked the sender and her heart instantly pounded.

It’s from Chloe, Caleb’s childhood friend who had returned Pack just five years ago, right after Ivana married Caleb. They were so close that Ivana got a bit jealous, but Caleb always reassured Ivana that he was just friends with Chloe, and nothing more.

Two days later, Ivana found a white envelope slipped under the door. Curiously, she opened it and was shocked to find steamy photos of her husband with Chloe in a bedroom that she recognized as the master bedroom in her luxurious home.

The house was one of the gifts from Ivana’s Dad when she married. And Caleb, knowing that Ivana owned many properties, asked for her to give it to Chloe.

“I would be really happy if you could humbly share some of your possessions with Chloe. She doesn’t have a home, family, just this pack to come back to,” Caleb coaxed Ivana.

Ivana, head over heels in love at the time, agreed to Caleb’s request without knowing that her actions were giving access to Caleb and Chloe’s affair.

Before Ivana could shake off her shock, a notification popped up on her phone. She clicked it and Caleb’s voice from a video filled the room. “I promise I’ll divorce Ivana after she gives birth to the heir for the Summerstone Pack. Because from the start, the one I love is you, Chloe Maverick.”

Ivana’s eyes widened in disbelief as she heard Caleb daringly seduce Chloe, using his surname with Chloe!

Several more text messages from Chloe appeared on her phone.

"I hope you understand that Caleb can’t continue with you anymore. He needs a healthy luna, not one who can’t give him an heir."

"Step down before Caleb kicks you out."

"We've been together for five years, and Caleb said he regrets not pulling me to the altar on your wedding day."

Ivana remembered that Caleb did seem a bit quiet and distant on their wedding day. But Ivana thought it was just because Caleb was nervous about the event. Now, that odd behavior finally made sense.

Ivana's mind was still trying to reject this reality when another message from Chloe made all her doubts evaporate. An ultrasound photo with the caption: "I’m pregnant with Caleb’s child."

Ivana's world went dark, and her stomach felt uneasy. It seemed the baby in her womb was also affected by their mother's shock. Ivana rubbed her belly, trying to calm her baby and herself, then got up and tidied up the scattered photos.

Ivana had no energy to do anything and just sat on the floor, leaning against the bed.

An idea suddenly crossed Ivana's mind to stalk Chloe's IG. Something she had never done before because she only focused on herself and Caleb.

Ivana opened it and started blaming herself for being so oblivious. If she had been aware from the beginning, she would have caught all the odd signs, the red threads that would connect Ivana to one conclusion: Caleb betrayed her.

Ivana loved Caleb to the point where she could recognize Caleb's back among a crowd of men. This time, it was impossible for Ivana to mistake the back Chloe was hugging in one of her IG photos.

"Diamond ring as a pregnancy gift."

Ivana clutched her chest, feeling tightness. The ring was the one she had shown Caleb, something she had asked for as a pregnancy gift. Caleb promised to give it to her, but now her pregnancy was mere days away from delivery, and the ring never made it to her hand.

There were many photos of Chloe with a mysterious man that Ivana could confirm was Caleb. The pattern was that Chloe always avoided showing his face and never mentioned the man's name or identity.

One photo caught Ivana's attention unintentionally. The date was about three years ago, November 9th. The same day she had a miscarriage, but Caleb didn’t accompany her with the excuse of having business in a neighboring pack.

This photo explained everything, that day Caleb was spending intimate time with Chloe at a luxurious seaside villa. No wonder Caleb ignored all of Ivana's calls on that fateful day. He also blocked all the mind-links Ivana tried with Beta Alden.

It was very clear in Ivana's memory, Caleb didn't come and asked Ivana’s Mom to accompany her.

Despite the heartbreak, Ivana could still forgive Caleb. Foolishly, she even blamed herself for not being able to take care of her pregnancy properly.

Caleb didn't say anything about the miscarriage, let alone blame Ivana. But Ivana always felt guilty because she had destroyed Caleb's hope of having an heir.

Connecting the odd behaviors Caleb had shown since she was declared pregnant. Caleb became much busier with inter-pack meetings, and he could be away for 3-7 days.

If Ivana needed Caleb and asked him to come home, he would get angry at Ivana and end the call. Ivana always remained patient because she thought she was at fault for having a body that wasn't very fertile, taking a long time to get pregnant again.

"Why are you sitting in a dark room?" Caleb asked, appearing in the room without Ivana noticing. He turned on the light, looking at Ivana with confusion. His expression then turned annoyed after observing Ivana's situation.

"The maid said you skipped your lunch. Are you planning to skip dinner too? Can you stop sulking and take better care of yourself? Have you forgotten that the one you're carrying is my heir?"
