My Wife's Secret was Revealed to Me
Chapter 1
My fiancée usually do morning jogging recently.
No matter what happened, she set off at 5:30 a.m. in the morning.
This morning, I found that she didn't take her phone. I followed to chase after her, but she was already gone.
One elevator was stopped on my floor, while the other one was stopped on the 23rd floor.
Shouldn't she go down to the first floor?
After several coincidences, I discovered the truth of morning jogging...
——
I was a scriptwriter for roleplay tabletop games. I often wrote until two or three in the morning when inspiration struck. The time 5:30 a.m. was when I slept the deepest.
Last night, I had a burst of inspiration and finished my work ahead. My fiancée, Belinda Parker, went to a friend's birthday party, so I went to bed early.
In the morning, the sound of the door woke me up. I took the opportunity to get up and drink some water.
I saw her phone was on the dining cabinet. It had only been two minutes since she left to wait for the elevator. So I immediately picked up the phone and chased after her.
We lived on the 16th floor, with two elevators serving four households. The motion-sensor hallway lights were still on, but Belinda was nowhere to be seen.
I looked at the elevator in confusion. One was still on our floor, while the other was on the 23rd floor.
The cold wind blew in through the open window in the hallway, instantly sobering me up.
Belinda went for a run. Shouldn't the elevator have gone down to the first floor?
Besides her, who else would be using the elevator at this time?
How could she go from the 1st floor to the 23rd floor in such a short time?
Belinda always kept her phone with her, even when going to the bathroom. If she realized she had forgotten her phone, she would come back to get it quickly.
With this in mind, I quickly grabbed the phone and put it back in its place. Then I laid back on the been nonchalantly, quietly listening to the sounds outside the door.
Sure enough, two minutes later, I heard the sound of the door opening and closing.
I walked out to the living room, but her phone and she were both nowhere to be found.
I cautiously looked out from the hole, but the corridor was still empty.
Looking out again, both elevators were still on this floor, one on the 23rd floor.
I was confused. I tossed and turned in bed, unable to fall asleep.
Belinda worked in a roleplay tabletop game store during the day. It was usually relaxing except on weekends. At night, she also worked as a teaching assistant at a five-star hotel's swimming pool.
About two months ago, she fell in love with morning runs. Every morning at 5:30 a.m., she would go out for a run.
Even as a teaching assistant, she has to swim. With such a high amount of exercise from swimming, she should be tired. How did she still have the energy to get up early the next day for a run?
She smiled and gave me a reason that I couldn't refuse, the passive exercise at work and the active exercise she did herself bring different happiness and effects.
I believed her.
I had to say, since she started morning runs, her body had improved. Her fair and beautiful skin now had a rosy glow, and she had become more charming.
But there was one thing. Every time I made requests for sex in the past two months, she had always used being tired from exercising as an excuse to refuse.
Strange things must have a reason. The sixth sense was not exclusive to women. When a man was pushed to the limit, the seventh, eighth, and ninth senses all came into play.
I felt like she was hiding something from me because she had been rejecting me a lot.
So I was particularly sensitive about the elevator incident...
When it was almost 8 o'clock, Belinda came back as usual and brought me hot coffee and sandwiches for breakfast.
Seeing me sitting on the sofa, she came over and kissed me playfully before taking a shower. She was considerate and affectionate, which didn't seem like she was having an affair.
Could it be that I've gone crazy from writing? Maybe she went downstairs by taking the stairs as a warm-up in the morning?
Looking at her breasts squeezed out of her sports bra in front of me, I felt hot and felt that every cell in my body was activated.
I hugged her and my hand moved up along her waist. Just as I was about to kiss her, she dodged me as if she had been shocked.
"Hmm, I smell like sweat all over, I'm going to take a shower!"
After saying that, she didn't care about me at all and went into the bathroom herself. I wanted to follow her in, but she locked the door, keeping me outside.
I sighed and sat back at the dining table, opening the breakfast she brought back.
But the bag that was packed again aroused my suspicion.
There were two torn notches on the edge of the bag, as if there was a piece of paper originally attached to it, leaving traces after being torn off.
Did she order takeout? Did she tear off the order receipt that was originally attached to it?
It rained last night, and the ground at this point must not have dried completely.
I suddenly remembered her running shoes. If she really went for a run, there must be muddy traces on the soles of her shoes.
Just as I was about to pick up her shoes.
I heard Belinda's soft voice from behind, "Darling, what are you doing?"
