Chapter 6

I suddenly sat up from the bed.

Frank wasn't sleeping soundly and was awakened by my movement.

"Rosa, why aren't you sleeping? It's so late at night."

I showed him the surveillance video from my phone, clearly showing every move of Halle.

Frank, who was originally drowsy, woke up at once.

He frowned and quickly snatched my phone, carefully examining every frame of the video.

"What's going on?"

"You should ask Halle!"

I thought he was referring to Halle.

"I'm asking why is there video surveillance in our room?"

He said sternly as he looked around.

He raised his voice so abruptly that I was taken aback.

"What's wrong with you?"

I was a little annoyed.

"That's what I wanna ask you. What's wrong with you?"

Frank glared at me, pointing to the circular surveillance video in the upper right corner of the room, and questioned me.

"Why did you install a camera in the room?"

He rarely confronted me like this.

I knew it was not right for me to install surveillance in the bedroom without asking him first, so I softened my tone and attitude.

"Frank, I told you that I lost a diamond necklace before, right?

"You know I've always had a good memory, and things won't just disappear for no reason.

"I installed this surveillance just in case.

"But there was indeed a thief!"

Frank remained silent after hearing my explanation.

I thought he was hurt by Halle.

After all, he trusted her so much.

"Frank, don't blame..."

"Rosa, I never expected you to be such a person!"

Before I finished speaking, Frank interrupted me.

I didn't get to say "Don't blame Halle".

"Halle told me that you have always had a problem with her, and I persuaded her, telling her that that's not who you are.

"But what you have done?"

I was confused by what he said. What did I do?

"You wouldn't let her wear your clothes. Now, you're smearing her for stealing?

"Rosa, I know her the best. She won't steal!

"This is a fake video, right?"

I was really stunned.

The evidence was right here, but he still refused to believe it.

"Fake? How is it fake? See for yourself. It clearly shows the time! And this is definitely Halle!

"Besides, she wore my clothes without my consent. It makes sense that she steals from me!"

Perhaps my sharp tone provoked Frank.

He, the so-called honest man, got angry.

"Rosa! Halle is my sister! I know better than you whether she will steal things or not!

"And what about you? Ever since Halle moved here, you have always been unable to tolerate her!"

I asked.

"So, you mean I deliberately framed her?"

Frank fell silent.

Sometimes not answering was the best answer.

I had been with him for a year. We got married.

But he didn't trust me at all.

I couldn't help but laugh. "Fine. Let's see who is lying."

While speaking, I dialed a number.

I called the police.
