My Sister and I have Completely Different Fates
My Sister and I have Completely Different Fates Chapter 1
When the rescue team found me in the ravine, I had been torn to pieces by several wild dogs.
Their faces were full of pity and sorrow as they collected my remains with reluctance.
The rescue team picked up my phone and called my family.
On the other end, my brother's impatient voice came through. "Yuina, do you think getting people to act along with you will make us believe it? Clara has been crying all day because you run away from home. You better get back here right now!"
Clara's fake, insincere crying also came through the phone. "Yuina, please come back soon. I promise I won’t make you angry anymore."
She knew I couldn’t return because I was killed by her.
For others, death was painful and terrifying. But for me, death was a release.
That home made me deeply experience what it felt like to fall from heaven into hell.
This world wasn't worth it.
No matter how the rescue team explained, my family on the other end of the phone refused to believe that I was dead. They stubbornly thought I had run away from home in a fit of temper to seek attention from them.
Eventually, with no other options, the rescue team took me to the morgue of a nearby hospital. After a brief autopsy, the coroner frowned slightly and said with certainty, "The victim was most likely murdered! Her limbs and the back of her head show signs of blunt force trauma. She was likely murdered and then dumped into the ravine! We need to conduct further examinations to determine the specifics!"
Ben, the head of the criminal police team, frowned as he looked at my disfigured body and said, "We need to expedite the detailed autopsy report! If it is confirmed to be a murder, we must initiate an investigation!"
He was my fiancé. Now, I’m lying before him, but he couldn't recognize me.
My soul floated in the air, watching Ben with mixed feelings.
He used to be the man I loved the most. But ever since Clara returned to the Koch Family, his attitude towards me changed drastically. Not just him, but also my brother and parents. After all, I was only an adopted daughter raised by the Koch Family by mistake.
Clara was the true daughter of the Koch Family.
Before I turned twenty, I was very happy. My parents and brother were very affectionate towards me. My fiancé, Ben, was considerate and caring. Many people envied me, thinking I was a winner in life.
However, after my twentieth birthday, everything I had was taken away by Clara.
She found the Koch Family and tearfully claimed to be the real daughter of the Koch Family.
Her appearance was strikingly similar to that of my mother when she was young.
Shocked, my father and my mother took us for a DNA test.
When the test results came out, Clara was welcomed back into the Koch Family and the status of being the Koch Family's precious daughter that had once been mine was naturally transferred to her.
She tearfully described the hardships she had faced over the years, leaving my father and my mother in tears and my brother deeply moved with red, watery eyes.
“Clara, don’t worry. We will make up for everything we owe you!”
Everyone showered her with care and blamed me for everything. My brother, Dennis, even said to my face, “If it weren’t for you, Clara wouldn’t have suffered so much! From now on, you must accommodate her in everything. Not only because she is my biological sister, but also because you owe her this!”
I felt guilty and tried to accommodate her in every way. However, Clara took my tolerance and sacrifices for granted. In front of our parents and brother, she displayed a delicate and affected demeanor.
In front of me, she showed no restraint in revealing her contempt and sarcasm.
"I am the true daughter of the Koch Family. You’ve taken my place and enjoyed the privileges of being in the Koch Family for so many years. Now it’s time for you to pay back what you owe! Everything you have rightfully belongs to me! Allowing you to stay in the Koch Family is my greatest mercy. If I were to expel you, you'd be worse off than a beggar on the street!"
I endured her scorn and taunts and the growing indifference of my parents and brother. I thought that once I married Ben, I could temporarily leave this house.
But when I saw intimate photos of Clara and Ben at a hotel on Clara's phone, I completely fell apart. I cried and went to Ben, demanding an explanation.
He impatiently said, "I was drunk that day and Clara just took me to the hotel to sleep. It wasn’t as dirty as you think! And we're not even married yet. Can you stop acting like a shrew and trying to control me?"
He added, “Even if we get married in the future, I still need my own space. I can’t be tied to you all the time. Your controlling behavior is suffocating!”
He wasn’t like this before. In the past, he was very gentle and caring towards me.
Was he only treating me this way now because I was no longer the Koch Family’s heiress?
Did he really fall for me, or was it just my status as the Koch Family’s heiress that he was interested in?
