Chapter 7

After dinner, I planned to read some books in the library.

But someone grabbed my wrist and dragged me out of the library angrily the moment I sat down.

I was so scared, thinking about whether I was assaulted by a criminal. However, it turned out to be Riley.

He pointed at me angrily. "Emily, did you tamper with that bracelet? Nora has never had any problems with her livestream, so why did she fall down the stairs this time? There must be something wrong with the bracelet on her hand. You must be resentful of Nora for taking me away, so you deliberately found this way to retaliate against her, right? How can you be so vicious?

"Besides, Nora and I used to get along well, but recently we've been arguing all the time. Even my classmates are causing me trouble. It's all your fault!

"You must be jealous that Nora stole your things, so you tampered with the bracelet to break her leg. She can't stream during this period. You have to be responsible for the medical expenses and losses!"

Riley seemed to be extremely upset, wanting to pass the buck of their conflicts to me with incoherent words.

I was amused as he illogically unleashed something ridiculous.

"Didn't Nora say that you bought her bracelet as a birthday gift? She refused to admit that it was my bracelet before, so why should I be blamed for her shit? Riley, as my boyfriend, you not only cheated on me, but you also stole my bracelet and gave it to your mistress. Now that she is in trouble, you still want me to take responsibility? Don't you think you're so shameless?"

While Riley was still thinking about how to refute me, I slapped him in the face.

He got so furious after being beaten by me that he tried to hit me back.

Meanwhile, I quickly shouted to the teacher on duty not far away on the first floor of the library, "Help! He's going to hit me!"

Since there were quite a lot of students studying in the library at night, more than a dozen students passing by surrounded Riley and me, including several from our department.

After learning what he had done to me, everyone began to criticize him.

Riley was too embarrassed to stay here any longer. He could only glare at me and left in a hurry.

Fearing that the bracelet would cause a bigger problem, I sent a message to Riley: [I'm warning you one last time. Hurry and give my bracelet back. Otherwise, you will be in trouble.]

But unexpectedly, as soon as the message was sent, Nora called me.

She said hysterically over the phone, "Emily, what's wrong with you? Riley bought that bracelet for me. I've told you countless times, but why are you still pestering him? Please stop disturbing our lives, or I will call the police!"

After saying that, she hung up the phone angrily.

I had to say I had never seen someone as stupid as her.

Even Riley felt that there might be something wrong with the bracelet.

But Nora insisted on refusing to give it back.

When she first moved into our dormitory, she was known for taking advantage of others.

Even if he made some money from live streaming now, the habit of taking what belonged to others was ingrained in her heart.
