Chapter 3

Things turned more and more interesting, and I was more and more curious about Gilbert.

How dare he cheat others under the name of my family?

I was about to drive to catch up with Gilbert when Wallace called me.

"Hello, what can I do for you?"

"I wanted to ask you what kind of design you wanted our company to make, but now there is something more important."

"Is there anything more important than mine?" Wallace asked dissatisfiedly.

"Help me investigate a man."

As soon as I finished my words, Wallace got excited.

"A man? Who is he? Do you have a boyfriend behind my back?"

"Stop talking nonsense. He’s from the same village as my dad. He depended on my dad and joined our company. However, I found that he was strange. Can you help me investigate him?"

Wallace finally felt relieved after hearing what I said.

Wallace was my childhood friend. We grew up together. After high school, he went abroad to study, while I didn't go abroad.

Although we were thousands of miles apart, we had always kept in touch.

The next day, it was almost time to get off work. Everyone was waiting to laugh at me, but I handed the design plan to Alisha on time.

Alisha took my design plan with surprise and opened it in doubt.

After reading it, Alisha fell silent. Then, she closed the plan and smiled at me.

"I've read the plan. It's pretty good. You can go home early today. I'll give it to the Collins Group for review tomorrow."

I went back to my workstation to pack up my things, but I heard noises from Linda. A group of people surrounded her.

"Linda, is it a Chanel bag?"

"It must be expensive. Linda, it isn't a fake one, is it?"

Linda rolled her eyes at the one, who asked the question, and handed the bag to her.

"Of course, it's not fake. How can I carry a fake bag?"

Linda raised her voice and looked at me smugly.

"I'm not like someone who embarrassed herself by carrying a fake bag."

Everyone knew she was talking about me and looked at me mockingly.

"Kailey, come over and take a look. It feels better than your fake bag."

"It is different from the fake one."

I never had the habit of being a deserter. Since they invited me, I immediately walked over and took over Linda's bag.

"It's pretty good. Linda, have you made a fortune?"

Linda immediately took back the bag and looked at me with disgust.

"Be careful. Don't touch it. Do you know how much it costs?"

"It is made of rare leather and worth more than twenty thousand dollars," I answered without hesitation.

After hearing the price, the colleagues present all looked at Linda with envy.

However, I stared at the blue bag in Linda's hand and fell into deep thought.

"My boyfriend is waiting for me downstairs, so I'm leaving now."

Linda looked at the envious eyes of the crowd and left with satisfaction. Before leaving, she glanced at me smugly.

After getting off work, I didn't go home but returned to my parents' old house.

After rummaging around in my cloakroom, I was sure about one thing.

Linda's bag was mine.
