My Mom's Best Friend Married My Dad

My stepmother promised to love me like her own, but instead, she ruined my life. Chapter 2

Sofia's affair had always been a secret. If she and her lover hadn't killed me in my previous life, I wouldn't have known that she was so libertine.

As for where she had the date, I had no idea.

I said, "She's your wife, not my pet. How would I know where she is?"

Hearing my provoking words, Damon lost his patience.

He ordered his men to press me down on the chair and slapped me a few more times, warning me that if I dared to slander Sofia again, he would make me pay.

He said, "Don't think I can't do anything to you. I have plenty of ways to let you tell me the truth."

Then, he sneered, took out my cell phone, and called my boyfriend, Eaton Connor.

Eaton answered, "What's wrong, baby?"

Damon signaled his men to cover my mouth.

When he looked at me, he opened the speaker with a weird smile and said, "It's me, Eaton."

Eaton's voice suddenly became tense. "Mr. Palin, I promise to listen to you and treat Alice very well."

Damon sneered, "No need. I want to apologize to you for introducing my good-for-nothing daughter to you.

"You may not know that Alice has a mental illness. She cuts her wrists at any time, drinks, and acts crazy, and even asks Sofia to take her back from the police station at midnight.

"She is promiscuous. What's worse, she has venereal disease. I only knew these things lately.

"I advise you to break up with her as soon as possible. Don't let her harm you."

Damon spoke without pausing and did not consider what the consequences would be for me after he said that.

At this moment, I finally realized the meaning of "if you lose your mom, you will lose your parent."

On the other end of the phone, Eaton was silent for a while.

Then, he decisively hung up the phone.

I knew he wouldn't believe what Damon said.

Eaton was the son of Damon's partner, and Damon introduced him to me.

But Eaton and I had always been in a good relationship.

He had always trusted me unconditionally.

Damon said smugly, "Sofia won't help you hide your deeds, and don't even think about bothering her anymore."

I got angry, and at the same time, I felt a surge of bitterness in my heart.

Today was my mother's death anniversary.

Just like what he had done in my previous life, Damon only cared about Sofia and never mentioned my mother.

I broke free from his men's control, picked up my mother's photo, and asked loudly with bloodshot eyes, "You only care about Sofia now. Have you ever thought about my mother? Today is her death anniversary!"

Damon got even angrier after I mentioned it.

He yelled, "Your mother... Humph, she didn't even give me a son but left me with a scourge like you.

"Sofia is so kindhearted that you can take advantage of her at will."

"Bastard!" I couldn't help but yell at Damon.

Damon sneered, "How dare you scold me! Well, you really angered me.

"Tear down all the photos on the wall and burn them. Smash all of that woman's things."

The photos and the things are the only memories my mother left me.

I wanted to stop them but was grabbed tightly.

The photos were torn, and the things my mother left were smashed.

The house was a mess.

It was just off hours. I lived on the first floor. More and more onlookers gathered outside, including my colleagues.
