My Husband's First love Killed My Son
Chapter 1
My husband took his childhood sweetheart to a pet hospital.
But he called and asked my six-year-old son to deliver the asthma inhaler.
Just as my son left the entrance of the apartment complex, he was crushed by a dump truck.
When I ran over, his tiny broken hand was still tightly holding the asthma inhaler.
I wanted to pick up his body, only to realize that he had been crushed into pieces.
And the driver had long since disappeared without a trace.
I desperately called my husband, but he questioned me aggressively.
"Bridget, what's wrong with you? I just asked our son to deliver an asthma inhaler, but he still hasn't arrived. Is it because you didn't let him do it?"
Before I could speak, he hung up the phone.
My heart was broken, and my hand holding the phone was trembling.
"Dorian, just wait, I will make you and Ruby pay with your lives!"

I knelt on the ground, heartbroken, and picked up the fragments of my son's body.
When I brought the box containing my son's pieces to the crematorium...
All the staff were moved, and they all accused the driver.
But they didn't know that the people I wanted to tear apart were DoriRubyd Ruby!
If it wasn't for Dorian letting my son deliver the asthma inhaler, how could my son have died so tragically?
It had been three days. I sat by the window and looked at the small box of my son's ashes, my heart full of resentment.
Late at night, Dorian came home with a strong smell of alcohol.
The first sound he made when he entered the door was a roar.
"It's pitch black and you don't even turn on the lights! What are you pretending to be sad for? Do you know that if Ruby's asthma can't be relieved in time, she will die?"
"The pet hospital is only two intersections away from home. What's wrong with letting our son deliver the inhaler? Are you hoping for Ruby to die?"
In the darkness, I held my son's ashes tightly in my hands, almost biting my teeth off.
Ruby didn't die, but my son did!
A strong sense of suffocation surged up in my chest, and I quickly took out the inhaler and took two puffs.
Dorian glanced at me with disgust. I knew he despised me for having asthma.
Dorian didn't even take a shower. He just collapsed on the bed and fell asleep.
Yes, I had severe asthma, a disease that couldn't be cured. I could only live on medication.
Ruby returned three years ago, but I didn't know that she also had asthma.
She said she got it because she couldn't adapt to the climate abroad, so she came back to recuperate.
But I observed Ruby and immediately saw that her asthma was fake. It was just a deception.
Only scum like Dorian would believe every word of Ruby's.
Looking at Dorian sleeping like a log, I thought of my son's tragic death.
An impulse surged in my heart. I wanted to rush over and strangle him to death.
But at the last moment, I held back. It was not worth sacrificing my life for such scum.
I walked out of the room with my son's ashes and slept on the sofa.
The next morning, Dorian frowned and looked at me, who was lying on the sofa, with wide eyes.
"What's wrong with you? Hurry up and cook for me!"
After saying that, he went to the bathroom and came out a few minutes later as if he remembered something.
"Where did our son go? Why hasn't he gotten up yet? It was too late last night, so I didn't care about him. Hurry up and wake him up!"
"I have to ask him if you refused to let him deliver medicine to Ruby. You've shown him such a bad example when he's still so young!"
I stared at him expressionlessly for a long time and then uttered a sentence.
"Let's divorce. I'll let you be with Ruby. Our son and I won't be a stumbling block for you anymore."
Dorian's expression froze for a moment, and he was stunned. After a while, he suddenly became furious.
"Bridget! You're crazy. Just because I want to teach our son to behave, you want to divorce me?!"
Dorian's baseless accusations and roars instantly ignited my long-standing anger.
“Dorian, you're sick! What right do you have to teach our son? He has been in kindergarten for several years, but when have you ever attended a parent-teacher meeting? When have you ever helped him with his homework? How many times have you spent with him at the amusement park on weekends? You're always with Ruby, aren't you?"
"And you knew I was at home, so why didn't you let me give the asthma inhaler to Ruby? Instead, you deliberately let our son answer the phone while I was taking a shower and told him to deliver the asthma inhaler. Do you know that going to the pet hospital requires passing through two busy intersections? Our son is only six years old!"
"You haven't come home for three consecutive days, and you didn't even ask about our son. How dare you question me about not raising him properly? Do you know that three days ago..."
Dorian was scared by my fierce appearance, and his chest was heaving violently from my reprimand.
He suddenly stared at me and interrupted me.
"Enough! It's not your turn to lecture me! I didn't let you deliver the medicine because I knew you wouldn't do it at all! What's wrong with letting my son do it? It's just two intersections, so what's there to be afraid of? He's already six years old. He should learn to be a man!"
"Is he still sleeping? Go and get him out now! I must make him realize his mistake and that you are a lunatic!"
I suddenly laughed, and cold tears slid down my face.
At this point, this scumbag still stubbornly believed that everything was my son's and my fault.
Because I was petty and unwilling to deliver the medicine to Ruby, he asked my son to do it.
Because my son was not independent, so he couldn't deliver the inhaler even though he was already six!
I really wanted to slap myself hard. How could I have loved such a heartless and treacherous man for so many years?
Seeing me fall silent in tears, Dorian suddenly felt that his anger was somewhat meaningless.
He impatiently glanced at me.
"Alright, stop pretending to be pitiful. I don't have time to waste with you. Don't even think about divorce unless you give me a good reason! Think about it carefully!"
After speaking, Dorian snorted coldly, slammed the door, and left.
The buzzing sound of the door slamming echoed in my ears, leaving me momentarily stunned.
We'd been married for ten years. When did we become like this?
