Chapter 1

My husband, Xylo Green, fell in love with the locust tree in our yard. At night, he would wrap his arms around it and kiss it.

One day, my dad decided to plant vegetables in the yard, so he cut the tree down.

The tree died in the morning, and by midnight, our whole family was gone.

Suddenly, I was reincarnated to the day when Xylo was passionately chasing after me.

He looked at me lovingly and said, “Olivia, can I be yours?”

I smiled flatly. I did not want him anymore, but I would definitely take his life!

On the first day I was reincarnated, my dad brought Xylo Green home for dinner.

At this point, my parents were trying to set me up with him.

The locust tree in the yard was blooming, with white flowers all over it since it was May.

I could not help but think back to my past life. The tree always had strange, dried, yogurt-like liquid stuck to it. At first, no one in the family paid attention to it.

Once, I told Xylo quite seriously, “This might be some mysterious secretion from insects.”

He cared a lot for the tree. In summer, he watered it, and in winter, he brought out blankets to keep it warm.

He would talk to the tree and share his feelings with it from time to time.

He often said, “Locust, the moon is beautiful tonight. You should enjoy it.”

He said the tree’s name with so much love as though it was his lover many lifetimes ago.

At first, we did not think much of it. We even thought he was just a compassionate person.

My dad once told me confidently, “Look how well Xylo treats the tree. He’ll treat you even better! Your mom and I will be at ease if you’re with him.”

But we were blind to the truth.

One night, I accidentally saw him with his pants down. He was hugging the tree, kissing it, and caressing it.

Not just that, he was actually dirty talking to the tree!

I was so startled as though I had seen something barbaric. I could not believe what I saw. The charming person I was with turned out to be a pervert.

“Olivia, I hope you don’t mind me. If I can be with you, I’ll consider myself lucky. No, not just lucky… It feels like fate is on my side.”

Xylo’s words snapped me back to reality. He was waiting eagerly for my answer.

He wore a well-fitted suit. He had broad shoulders, a slim waist, long legs, short, neatly styled hair, thick eyebrows, big eyes, and a sharp nose. He was incredibly handsome.

In my past life, I was charmed by his looks and happily married him.

But after the wedding, I realized that his abs, long legs, and physique were all just for show.

He felt guilty and kept eating supplements in front of me, but it did not change anything.

However, when it came to the locust tree in our yard, he seemed perfectly fine.

It was incredibly frustrating. While it did not harm me directly, I still felt humiliated.

I could accept it if I were ugly or overweight, but I had a good figure and nice features!

Just thinking about it made me sick.

My dad urged me to respond. “Olivia, why aren’t you saying anything?”

I tried to sound casual. “I’m still young. I don’t want to get married just yet. Maybe in a few years…”

My parents looked at me in shock.

In my past life, I was obsessed with Xylo by this point. I had even told my parents more than once that I would marry no one but him.

Xylo was a fairly well-known lawyer. Two years ago, my dad hired him for a legal case.

He helped my dad win the case, and my dad really liked him after that.

Later, my dad found out that Xylo was not only single but also an orphan. He was delighted and wanted to set us up.

Since I was an only child, my parents wanted to find a son-in-law who would join our family.
