Chapter 2

I couldn't stand it for a moment. I ran downstairs crazily and took a taxi to the hospital to look for Konner.

Before I make up my mind to break up with him, I must get my daughter back.

However, after looking around the ward, I didn't see Konner.

"You're not in the hospital. Where did you go?"

I questioned him on the phone. A delicate young voice came from the line and soon disappeared.

He cleared his throat and replied, "Roselyn, I'm at the old house to arrange something. You don't have to come to me."

Before I could finish my question, he hung up the phone.

It was the right time for him to go to the hospital for chemotherapy. I went to the nurse in the ward and asked, "When did the patient in room No. 8 leave?"

The nurse looked up at me strangely, shook her head, and left.

We had been together for eight years, but Konner had never told me where his house was.

He said that his parents didn't approve of us being together and didn't want us to disturb them, so we just had to care about our own lives.

When I thought about it at the moment, I just felt a chill all over.

He lied to me for eight years.

I was too tired, so I leaned against the bed and waited for Konner to come back, but I fell asleep in a daze.

I had a dream.

I dreamed of entering another parallel world.

Konner died at the end of the eighth year after our marriage. His company went bankrupt, and even the house he left for me and our daughter was auctioned off by the court.

He didn't tell me where our daughter was before he died, so I spent the rest of my life looking for her.

I finally found the Ramsey's house, but my daughter Averie Ramsey didn't know me. She stood gracefully beside Elyse and said that Elyse was her mother.

I left in despair, but when I was teaching in a mountainous area, I happened to meet Konner, who I hadn't seen for many years and should have died.

He drove a luxury car to travel with a beautiful girl with curly hair sitting in the passenger seat and a naughty son in the back seat.

While I was staring at him in disbelief, he saw me too.

He sneered at first glance. "That woman is just a simp. I'm tired of her. As expected, she can only lead such a bad life without me."

I wanted to catch up with him and ask him if he was Konner and why he lied to me.

However, the woman with curly hair looked at me contemptuously and scolded me.

"What a silly woman. Back then, Konner didn't die. He just meant to get rid of you and that old woman. He pretended to be dead because he wanted to be with me."

I flew into a rage from embarrassment and my gaze fell on their son behind them.

Konner thought that I was going to hurt the child, so the moment I reached out my hand, he suddenly pushed me down the cliff!

The real weightlessness woke me up in an instant.

I found myself still lying in the hospital ward. It was almost dawn, but there was no one else in the ward.

I stood still in a daze.

If that dream had happened in a certain time and space, it was very likely that Konner didn't get leukemia!

I carefully recalled that when he died in my dream, I didn't see his body or ashes. He just asked the doctor to leave me a will.

He said that his body had been cremated by his family in his hometown.

I was so sad that I thought he was dead, but never thought that he could fake his death.

I clenched my fists tightly.

"Konner, if you pretend to be dead to find your lover, I will definitely kill you this time!"
