My vision began to darken and just as I was about to suffocate, Selena wrapped her arms around Ethan’s waist and pulled him back.

With that single action, he obediently released me and his body showed an unmistakable reaction.

I couldn’t hold back the coughing or the tears that followed, the weight of years of a bitter marriage pressing down on me.

“Ariana, you only care about your own happiness,” Selena accused, her tone laced with condemnation. “You want a divorce and now you’ve pushed me and Ethan to the brink of death.”
