My Husband Cheated with the Nanny Chapter 1

It poured on the day of my father’s funeral.

People came to pay their respects, but I hadn’t seen my husband in a long while.

I thought maybe he stepped out briefly—handling things in the rain, silently grieving.

But just as I placed the final bouquet of flowers, my phone buzzed with a message—an anonymous text showing a photo of two people tangled together, completely naked.

The man in the photo was my husband—missing for over an hour!

I froze, stunned. I couldn’t believe it.

But the coat lying on the floor in the photo? I picked it out for him this morning—I’d never mistake it.

Then another message came, this time with an address.

I steadied myself, swallowed my panic, and made my way toward the lounge.

Just as I reached the door, I heard the unmistakable sounds of a woman’s moans from inside. I didn’t need to see—there was no doubt what was happening.

I stood outside, drenched in rain, ears ringing, heart tearing open in my chest.

Johnny Winter—he really cheated on me. At my father’s funeral. With the nanny.

Rage roared through me, and the world spun.

I leaned on the wall, trying to stay upright, pressing a hand against my chest to keep from crumbling completely.

Inside, the woman’s playful voice teased, “Johnny, aren’t you afraid Lourna might find out?”

That voice—I knew it. Ana Stout. The live-in nanny I had trusted for three years.

I chose her over more qualified candidates because she seemed young and pitiful. I treated her like a sister. And here she was—seducing my husband on the day I buried my father!

A wave of nausea washed over me. I nearly vomited.

“What are you scared of?” said the man I had loved for five years, his voice so casual it cut like glass. “Isn’t it thrilling to do this at her father’s funeral? Even if she finds out, she won’t dare say a thing. She’s just a dog who follows orders. No one would ever want her but me.”

The woman laughed—sweet and low. It was like a thousand needles stabbing into my chest.

“That’s true,” she said. “Anyway, we already got what we wanted. So when are you going to divorce her?”

“Soon,” Johnny replied, smiling. “The timing’s perfect. You and Lourna are due at the same time. Once the babies are born, I’ll switch them. Our child will inherit everything that’s hers.”

“Ana, don’t worry. Once she has nothing left, I’ll throw her out. Let her beg on the streets. That’ll be your revenge. She always made you serve her—this is what she deserves.”

I trembled with fury outside the door.

She was the nanny I hired. Was it not her job to serve me?

And now Johnny wanted to swap our children—to let me raise his mistress’s child?

I couldn’t take it anymore. I pushed the door open.

A moment before I did, I heard Ana say with a smile, “Lourna is so pitiful. She probably doesn’t even know… her father’s death…”

Her words cut off as she spotted me. She shrieked, “Ah! Lourna, do you have any manners? How can you just barge into someone else’s room?!”

Their naked bodies froze in a tangle of limbs.

Eyes burning, voice cold, I stared straight at them.

“What about my father’s death?” I demanded.
