Chapter 3

As soon as the words fell, the whole company fell silent.

The employees at their workstations turned their gazes toward me in shock and began whispering among themselves.

The receptionist's jaw dropped in astonishment.

Taking advantage of her momentary lapse, I bypassed her and pushed open the door to Eric's office.

"Don't!" The receptionist shouted.

However, it was too late, as the door had already been opened.

Inside the office, Ava was sitting on Eric's lap, his hands tightly wrapped around her waist as they passionately kissed.

Outside, there were gasps of disbelief.

The discussion grew louder.

"No wonder Mrs. Marshall wants a divorce. Mr. Marshall is openly cheating right here in the office!"

"I've noticed that something off about Ms. Stone for a while!"

"She is just a home-wrecker who interferes with other people's families. She is so shameless!"

The people inside slowly turned their heads upon hearing the commotion.

Upon seeing me at the door, Eric's expression turned unpleasant.

"Seraphina, what are you doing in the company?" he asked.

With a cold face, he scolded and dismissed the employees who were spectating. "If anyone continues to watch, go find the finance department to collect your salary and get out!"

Everyone was cautiously observing my expression.

They thought I came here specifically to catch them in the act or to stage a dramatic confrontation.

But I no longer care.

Expressionless, I handed him the divorce agreement I held in my hand.

"Eric, take a look at the clauses inside. Is there anything else you want to add? Let's get divorced today."

Eric suddenly looked up, stunned, as he gazed at me.

After a moment of silence, he chuckled softly.

"Seraphina, have you lost your mind due to your illness? Do you even know what you're talking about?

You are now afflicted with a rare disease, and survival itself is a problem, let alone remarrying someone else.

"Besides, once you divorce me, you will have nothing left. Are you sure you want to get divorced?"

I shook my head and sneered.

"Eric, I advise you to take a look at the clauses first.

There's also a prenuptial agreement underneath the divorce agreement. After you read it, you won't speak like that anymore."

Six years ago, when Eric proposed to me on his knees, he voluntarily handed me a prenuptial agreement.

It specifically stated that he would be unwaveringly devoted to me for a lifetime.

If he were to cheat or fall out of love, he would leave with nothing, leaving all his assets to me.

Over the years, I had remained by his side, never leaving him.

I watched him go from being a penniless employee to becoming a successful billionaire tycoon.

It seemed that he had long forgotten his initial promise.

He even completely forgot about the prenuptial agreement.

Eric's expression changed as he heard my words, and he quickly lowered his head to check the documents.

He flipped through a few pages roughly, his face turning livid.

Seeing that he had almost finished reading, I calmly spoke up.

"I have consulted a lawyer, and the prenuptial agreement holds legal validity. I came here today to have you sign it.

And by the way, I'll be taking back ownership of the company."

My words were resolute, but Eric's expression grew increasingly grim.

He looked at me deeply and then leaned closer, smiling.

"Seraphina, do you think you can threaten me?

I wrote this prenuptial agreement just for fun. Do you really think I can give you such a big company just because you want it? What a joke!"

With a cold smile, Eric raised his hand and tore the prenuptial agreement into pieces.

I was furious and picked up the ashtray from the table, throwing it at him.

"Eric, you are despicable!"

He stood there like a thug, laughing as he watched me. When the ashtray came crashing toward him, he didn't even bother to dodge.

It hit his forehead right away, creating a wound and causing blood to trickle down from the corner of his eye.

"Eric!"

Ava, who had been eavesdropping at the door while holding a cup of coffee, rushed toward me desperately when she saw Eric's forehead being hit.

"Seraphina, how could you, you shrew! How can you hit him like that?

His forehead must be so painful!"

Ava looked concerned and wanted to approach and console him, but Eric stopped her.

Ava glared at me hatefully.

"You crazy woman, have you gone mad with greed?

You are sick now and unable to take care of Eric for the rest of his life. Why do you have the audacity to stand on the moral high ground and accuse him?

Even if there is a divorce, you should be the one leaving with nothing!"
