My Husband and Mother-in-Law Drive Me Out of the House Chapter 1
The end of the world was coming with high temperatures, but the resources at our home were only enough for four people to survive.
My name was Eva Thompson. Me, my husband Matt Moody, my mother-in-law Rosemary Guzman, and their distant relative Samantha Ingram who happened to be staying with us, were four people.
Just when I breathed a sigh of relief, the doorbell rang.
Rosemary and Matt urged me to open the door, and the moment I opened it, they pushed me out.
Before I died, I saw Samantha leaning in Matt's arms.
Rosemary said viciously to me.
"Samantha is already pregnant with Matt's baby. It's a boy. You can't give birth to a boy. Don't blame us for giving up on you."
I died in despair under the scorching heat.
When I opened my eyes, I was back before the end of the world.
This time, I'd enjoy the air conditioning and chilled watermelon while watching them all die.

The temperature outside was terrifying. I touched my bulging belly and felt a little uneasy.
But then I figured that as long as we had enough resources at home, we should be able to survive.
Just when I was glad that there was still food at home, there was a sudden knock on the door.
I patted Matt and asked him to open the door, but Rosemary grabbed my hand and smiled kindly.
"Eva, why don't you go and open the door? Matt and I will go upstairs and see what's going on."
I looked at the thermometer. Seeing that the outside temperature was 140 degrees Fahrenheit, I hesitated.
Rosemary seemed to sense my doubts and waved at me. "Don't worry. We're upstairs. Besides, the air conditioning is on. Nothing will happen. Go and see who it is, and then come upstairs."
Only then did I nod and turn to open the door.
When I put my hand on the doorknob, I had a bad feeling, but Rosemary behind me kept urging me.
"Open it. What if someone outside needs help?"
Hearing this, I felt warm. Rosemary was as kind as always.
So, I took a deep breath and opened the door.
Unexpectedly, the second I opened the door, a strong force came from behind me and pushed me out fiercely.
At some point, Rosemary was following me. She slammed the door shut.
The scorching heat surrounded me, and I felt like I was about to melt. I hurriedly turned around and patted the door.
"Rosemary! Rosemary, please open the door!"
But no matter how hard I patted, there was no response from inside.
At this moment, I looked through the window and saw the door of the master bedroom open, and Samantha walked out with a bulging belly.
Rosemary walked to Samantha and protected Samantha behind her as if she was afraid that I would scare her.
Samantha looked at me through the window, her eyes were red as if she was about to cry. "I'm sorry. I didn't want it to be like this... But I'm pregnant. I'm pregnant with Matt's son. I can die, but my son can't."
She lowered her head and cried, looking inconsolable.
Matt walked to her, reached out, put his arm around her shoulders, and comforted her, "Don't say that. Why are you apologizing to her?"
After speaking, he looked at me coldly. "Since you already see, I might as well tell you. Samantha is indeed pregnant with my child, and it's a boy. As for you..."
He sneered, "Just stay outside. The food at home isn't for you."
I looked at them in disbelief, tears falling uncontrollably and evaporating in the high temperature.
"Matt, I am your wife! How could you!"
But no matter how I shouted, there was no response from anyone in the room.
I sat despairingly on the ground, feeling the moisture in my body evaporating bit by bit.
The high temperature roasted my skin, making it crack, and I had difficulty breathing. The scene in front of me became increasingly blurry.
"Help... Help... Can someone help me..."
No one appeared until I closed my eyes.
When I opened my eyes, I found myself lying on the sofa, with sweat on my forehead, and my body wet.
I sat up abruptly and looked around.
Rosemary was tidying up the ingredients in the kitchen, and Matt was sitting next to me on his phone. The TV was playing news about the global heatwave, and everything was exactly the same as in my previous life.
Was I reborn?
Thinking of this possibility, I felt excited, but soon, I calmed down.
"Eva, what's wrong with you? Why are you sweating so much?" Matt noticed that something was wrong with me and asked.
I heard his voice and remembered the way I died in my previous life. I wished I could kill him right now.
But now I was an insignificant pregnant woman, and I would definitely be plotted against and killed by them if I exposed myself. So, I should lay low.
I suppressed my hatred and forced a smile, saying, "I'm fine. I had a nightmare."
"What nightmare? It scared you like this," Matt asked curiously.
I lowered my head, hiding the hatred in my eyes. "Nothing serious. I dreamed of the end of the world."
"Chill. Dreams are just dreams. They aren't real. You'll be fine," Rosemary poked her head out of the kitchen and comforted me with a smile.
Looking at the smile on her face, I wished I could tear apart her hypocritical face.
This woman who favored sons over daughters, in my previous life, sacrificed my and my baby's lives for the baby boy Samantha was carrying. In this life, I would never let her off!
