Chapter 5

Third Person's Point of View

Natalia's room was filled with the sound of her agonizing cries and sobs. She believed she had run out of tears, but as the weight of her circumstances sank in, a fresh wave of tears streamed down her face, and once she started crying, she couldn't stop. The loss of her child, the theft of her invention, and her husband's betrayal all hit her at once, overwhelming her. She felt utterly helpless, left with nothing but mourning, crying, and screaming to release her pain.

Natalia had married Aiden without knowing his true identity, and the profound foolishness and bitterness she felt were beyond imagination. The mere thought of it was enough to shatter her into pieces. Despite the betrayal, she had truly and deeply loved him, with no doubt in her heart. Now, lying in a hospital bed with a gunshot wound and having lost her baby, tears flowed again without restraint.

Witnessing Natalia's pain and struggles, her grandfather Maxwell embraced her warmly, which only intensified her crying. "It's so unfair, Grandpa... it's so unfair," she lamented. Maxwell could only console his granddaughter with gentle taps on her back. His eyes welled up with tears, unable to bear seeing Natalia in such a weakened state.

"I foolishly believed I could build a family with him... I thought he was the man I would spend the rest of my life with, and yet... It's all my fault! If only I hadn't been so naive!" Natalia's tears were wiped away by Maxwell, who struggled to speak due to the lump in his throat. "Hush, it will never be your fault, okay? They are the ones to blame, Natalia. They are the ones who should be crying right now!"

Maxwell's outburst made Natalia feel that, despite the series of painful events, she had someone on her side. Exhausted from her mourning, she fell asleep. When Natalia opened her heavy eyes, her grandfather was no longer in the hospital room.

She turned to the nurse who was busy monitoring her bedside. "Miss, did you see my guardian? The old man who was with me earlier."

The nurse paused to think and nodded. "He informed us that he would be leaving somewhere. He also instructed us not to let you leave your hospital room."

Fear began to creep into Natalia's veins upon hearing this. After the nurse left, she mustered the strength to remove the IV drip and stood up from the bed, despite her weakness. The hospital staff tried to prevent her from leaving, but she insisted until they had no choice but to let her go. She knew exactly where her grandfather would have gone.

"Taxi!" she called out, determined.

Without hesitation, she got into the taxi and instructed the driver where to go. Given the popularity of the Johnsons' company, it was easy to find their residence. Trembling with agitation, she arrived and was shocked to see security personnel surrounding her grandfather, who was clutching his chest as if struggling to breathe.

"Grandpa!" she shouted and ran towards him, disregarding the pain from her wounds. "Help! Please! Grandpa!" she wailed, but her pleas fell on deaf ears.

Another wave of tears streamed down Natalia's cheeks. Her eyes were already swollen from crying so much, but all she could do was cry. As she looked ahead, she saw the arrogant faces of the Johnsons, their mocking gazes driving her to madness. Yet, she knew that wasn't the most important thing at that moment.

She quickly dialed 911 on her phone and, while waiting, held her grandfather's hands tightly. "Grandpa, grandpa... Please, don't leave me. Please, hold on, okay? You can't leave me. I would die! I would die! Please!" she begged, her tears flowing uncontrollably, her weakened arms embracing her grandfather.

With trembling hands, she informed the emergency dispatcher about the situation. "Grandpa, please... What will I do if I lose you too?"

Natalia cried bitterly, weeping and whimpering, praying for another miracle. She hoped that if any divine beings existed, they would hear her desperate pleas.

Maxwell's grip on her hand tightened as they stood amidst the people who had caused all of this. He whispered his love for her and expressed his final wishes as if saying goodbye.

"I... I love you," he whispered. Natalia shook her head, not wanting to hear any more of his final words. He held her face and wiped away the tears streaming from her lifeless eyes. "It's okay, Nat. Just remember, Nat... I love you, my princess..."

When the ambulance arrived, her grandfather had already lost consciousness. Natalia couldn't believe how evil the Johnsons were, watching them like a film while her last remaining family member lay in her arms. Their cruelty surpassed her wildest imagination.

They had already stolen what she had worked hard for, betrayed her trust, and now they were attempting to take away her last source of support and love. Natalia's heart was filled with an overwhelming mix of grief, anger, and determination.

As the paramedics rushed Maxwell onto a stretcher, Natalia followed closely behind. She refused to let him go without a fight. She pleaded with the medical team to do everything they could to save him, her voice breaking with emotion. She clung to the hope that he would pull through, that he would recover and be by her side once again.

In the hospital, Natalia anxiously paced the waiting room, her mind consumed with worry. She knew that the Johnsons were powerful and influential, and she couldn't help but fear that they would continue to harm her and those she cared about. But amidst her fear, there was also a newfound strength growing within her. She realized that she couldn't let them win, couldn't let them break her spirit.

Days turned into weeks as Natalia remained steadfastly by her grandfather's side. She watched as doctors and nurses tirelessly worked to save him, never giving up hope. She leaned on her friends for support and drew strength from the love and encouragement they showered upon her.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the doctors delivered the news Natalia had been praying for. Maxwell had stabilized and was on the path to recovery. The relief washed over her like a wave, and she couldn't help but let out a mixture of tears and laughter.

With Maxwell's recovery, Natalia's determination grew stronger than ever. She knew she had to fight back against the Johnsons, not just for herself, but for her grandfather and for justice. She would expose their deceitful ways, their theft of her invention, and their attempts to destroy her life.

Armed with a newfound resolve, Natalia began gathering evidence, seeking out allies, and strategizing her next moves. She knew it wouldn't be easy and that she would face numerous obstacles along the way, but she was prepared to fight tooth and nail for what was rightfully hers.

As the days turned into weeks and the weeks turned into months, Natalia embarked on a journey of resilience, courage, and resilience. She channeled her pain and anger into her pursuit of justice, vowing to bring the Johnsons to their knees and reclaim her stolen invention.

Natalia's story became a symbol of strength and determination, inspiring others who had faced similar injustices to stand up for themselves. Through her unwavering spirit, she not only achieved justice for herself but also sparked a movement that would expose and challenge the corruption and greed of the powerful.

The road ahead was still long and filled with challenges, but Natalia faced it head-on, knowing that she had the support of her loved ones and the strength within herself to overcome any obstacle. She refused to let the darkness consume her, choosing instead to rise above it and fight for what was right.

Natalia's journey would continue, and the world would bear witness to the indomitable spirit of a woman who refused to be broken.
