After My Girlfriend Got Cancer, She Started To Play Tricks On Me
Chapter 4
I marched to the desk and slammed my resignation letter down on Mia's table.
The office management looked on in shock.
Sensing the eerie mood, everyone silently bowed their heads.
Mia glanced at me coldly, closed her project plan, and said, "That's enough. If you have any issues, see me privately."
Everyone sighed in relief and hurriedly left.
She took off her glasses and toyed with them, her gaze mocking. "What have you decided about what I said the other day?"
"I will never apologize to you! Get that idea out of your head!"
Her smile faded to an icy demeanor. "Resigning? Sure can.
"But remember, you're broke, and the company provides the place where you live.
"Oh, and you signed an agreement. The company trained you for so long that you can't just walk away without compensating."
Mia's determined look was crushing.
I was on the verge of tears.
Her intentions were too malicious, calculating every step to trap me.
Now, I was entirely at her mercy, subject to her whims.
But I couldn't refuse.
"Mia, good job!"
I gritted my teeth and spat out the words, tearing up the resignation letter and throwing it in her face.
Mia's expression changed as she stared at me intently, and with a cold laugh, she said, "So you agree then."
Furious, I stormed out, slamming the door behind me.
Mia's voice came from behind. "Join me at the party tonight. Of course, if you don't go, it'll come out of your next month's salary!"
This woman was crazy!
She knew I was desperately in need of money, and she gave me no choice!
Later, she and her stylist barged in, card in hand, forcibly dressing me up and styling me.
That evening, I attended the event as Mia's companion. She greeted business partners cheerily, arm in arm with me.
Whispers filled my ears.
"Isn't that Ms. Thompson?"
"Is this her new boy toy?"
