Chapter 2

Seeing that I was about to be late, I planned to ask my boyfriend again at the company. But, when I arrived at the company, I heard that he had taken Ariana to meet a client.

Until the end of the workday, neither of them came back and Lucas did not even reply to any messages.

When I got home, it was empty. I turned on a small night light in the living room and sat quietly.

In a few minutes later, a familiar car sound was heard outside the door. Lucas finally came home.

The door lock was opened and Ariana helped Lucas walk inside, while accurately turning on the corridor light at the door with one hand.

The sudden light was a bit dazzling, so I raised my hand to block it and heard a timid voice.

"Miss Riley, Mr. Schmidt is drunk. I am sending him back."

I glanced at the two people in front of me. Lucas was already drunk, with two blushes on his cheeks, his suit jacket draped over his shoulders and two buttons of his shirt undone.

Meanwhile, Ariana looked a little drunk and her cheeks were also red.

I lowered my hands that were blocking the light and smiled.

"Thank you for sending him back so late. Actually, you could have just dropped him off at a nearby hotel."

"How could I do that? Staying in a hotel is not clean," she said as she carefully placed Lucas on the sofa and stood in place, looking reluctant to leave.

"Why, is there anything else?" I asked her in wonder.

"No ... then I'll excuse myself. Goodbye, Miss Riley."

While saying goodbye to me, Ariana's eyes remained fixed on my boyfriend.

She turned to leave, but the drunk Lucas grabbed her wrist and said, "Where are you going?"

Looking at that hand, I felt like there was a prairie above my head.

Ariana was so anxious that she broke out in sweat. She took out her hand from the man's hand with a panicked look on her face.

"Miss Riley, Mr. Schmidt is drunk. Don't get me wrong. Then, I'll excuse myself, I have to catch the subway."

"Ariana, how old are you this year?" I suddenly threw a question.

She replied, "Twenty two years old."

"Lucas is thirty years old." I pulled out a cigarette and lit it, without saying anything else, then waved my hand to signal her to leave.

After seeing her stepped out and closed the door, I reached into Lucas' pocket with one hand and took out a lighter.

It was very childish, with a black and purple rabbit head painted on it. It seemed to be the recently popular Kuromi. I had never liked these things, but Ariana liked them.

There were several dolls like this on her desk.

I took out his mobile phone, entered my birthday and it showed that the password was wrong.

Then, I grabbed his wrist, unlocked it with his fingers and clicked on his WhatsApp account.

The WhatsApp account was an unfamiliar one, with only one person added to it. The avatar was a pink girl holding a rabbit. Upon closer look, it was a photo of Ariana that had been edited into an animated version.

His chat with Ariana was still in the morning. Ariana sent him an address and he replied he would be there soon.

The address was more than ten kilometers away from the company. I remembered that when she joined the company, she said that she had already moved out of the dormitory for internship. She lived far away from the company and it took her two hours to commute back and forth every day.

I guessed this must be Ariana’s home.

What could a man and a woman do at home? Thinking of this, my pupils shrank slightly.

Scrolling up, it was the caring words that Ariana sent him last night, which was the green tea that was "exposed" on his social media.

I left Lucas in the living room and laid on the bed. I had no intention of sleeping and could not figure out when he hooked up with the intern.

The corridor light switch at the entrance of our house was very hidden and people who came here for the first time had no idea where it was. Strangely, Ariana turned it on immediately just now, but she had only been working there for two months.

That was to say, in the past two months, when I was busy with the planning project in the company, my boyfriend and his mistress were making love in my house.

I tossed and turned, sleepless the whole night.
