My Childfree Wife Brought Her Twin, so I Left Chapter 1

When my child-free wife brought home her twin, I left without a trace.

Since my wife insisted on not having a child so on our wedding day, I chose to get a vasectomy.

However, twenty years later, the shares rights agreement of the Wilson Corporation bore the names of a pair of twins.

This made me launch a thorough investigation and I found out that they were the children my wife had secretly given birth to ten years ago. My retired parents-in-law had even been at their side at that time.

This was like a bolt from the blue, my fury erupted as I confronted her. "Why?" I demanded.

She responded calmly, "So, Morgan Lawrence can show his respect and fulfill his duty to his elders."

My eyes burned red with emotion as I looked at her and we argued fiercely.

Friends and elders around us tried to persuade me.

"Isn't it just children? After all, you two have been married for twenty years and she did not keep this secret from you. This shows how much Sandra still cares about you."

"You’ve had health issues for years, but Sandra has never abandoned you. After all, since the Wilson Corporation is such a huge enterprise; someone has to inherit it."

I looked at Sandra Wilson with heartache, but she did not say anything. Despite being in her early forties, she still had a youthful figure and appearance.

"If you never see them again, I won’t ask for a divorce. This is my biggest compromise," I said.

Sandra Wilson stood up and silently removed her wedding ring. "They are my closest blood relatives. I can’t possibly abandon them. I am their mother."

She looked at me and without a trace of guilt or hesitation she added, "If you refuse to let this go, then I’ll have to move out for a while."

My fists clenched tightly. That was the moment I completely gave up, so I said, "Sandra, let's divorce!"

——

My father stood up slapped me across the face and shouted angrily, "Are you saying you want to divorce Sandra even though she is a good wife? I’ll break your legs!"

My cousin also said in a sharp tone, “Brother, do you know how much Sister-in-law has done for us? It’s just a child. You don’t even have to pay to raise them! How can you be so petty?"

Everyone tried to tell me to forget my intention to divorce her. Meanwhile, Sandra looked gloomy.

After she hesitated for a while, Sandra finally said, "Regan … that’s not what I meant."

A sharp pain clenched my chest. I lifted my head forced back the bitterness in my heart and said, "Sandra, what you meant doesn’t matter anymore because you’ve already broken our vows."

Sandra's expression became even more gloomy, but I could not read her emotions. She said, "Regan, we’re not young anymore. We’ve weathered so many storms together. I thought you would understand me."

"I was simply fulfilling my promise to Morgan. Nothing more. They are my responsibility, but I don't love them. Why are you so jealous over something that shouldn’t matter?"

Her tone was light as if she were explaining something inevitable as she gently chastised me for my narrow-mindedness.

However, her words felt like a knife that cut deep into my heart. So, it turned out that my patience and devotion had given her the audacity to disregard our marriage.
