Chapter 5

Chapter 4

Due to Ero's intense aura, the people who were supposed to ride the elevator with us stopped in their tracks, leaving only the two of us inside.

"Ero, please answer me," I said to him. "What's going on again? Why are you so angry? And I thought we were going to have dinner? Where are we going?" I bombarded him with questions. He pressed the letter 'P' in the elevator. Does P stand for penthouse? Is that right?

"Kendall, for once," he spoke softly, "please shut up." His voice sounded deep and threatening when he said that. Ugh! Why does he always want to silence me? I need to go home, and Jacobo might be waiting for me. Instead of keeping quiet, I retorted.

"If you want silence, then take me home. Jacobo is waiting for me—" he cut me off, and my eyes widened when I felt his lips on mine. He pressed me against the elevator wall and grabbed my hands as I tried to push him away.

His kisses were rough, and I hated it! I gasped when he suddenly bit my lower lip, causing it to bleed. It hurt!

He forcefully entered his tongue into my mouth and explored every corner. He even sucked on my tongue and tried to play with it, but I shook my head to break free from his kiss. However, he used his free hand and placed it on my waist to restrain my head from moving and protesting against his kisses.

He continued doing that until the elevator suddenly made a sound, indicating that we had arrived at the penthouse. As he moved away from me, tears streamed down my face. Jacobo was the only person who had ever kissed me in my entire life, and he had never forced me to do it. All I felt towards Ero was anger and fear for what he did to me.

He really is a heartless monster, especially with his insistence on kissing me even when I strongly opposed it. Doesn't he have any conscience? I lowered my head and bit my lower lip, even though it hurt from the earlier injury, just to suppress my sobs while my tears continued to flow.

It seemed like he didn't notice my tears because he kept pulling me towards him until we stood in front of double doors. He took something from his pocket and used a card to open the door.

I was about to discreetly wipe away my tears because he had his back to me, but before I could do that, he turned to face me and froze when he saw my tear-stained face.

"Kendall..." he called me softly. I couldn't look directly at him and swallowed repeatedly to stop myself from crying. However, tears still fell from my eyes when he suddenly pulled me closer and hugged me tightly.

It felt so nice to be in Ero's arms. Gosh! Despite making me cry and all, I still liked his embrace, and I could feel my heart pounding crazily again.

I think I have a heart problem; it always goes haywire whenever Ero is near me.

"Don't you like the food?" Ero asked me. He really didn't send me home. Yes, he allowed me to stay, but he didn't even apologize, and now he's acting like nothing happened.

He even had Italian food delivered for dinner, but I couldn't eat. I just kept poking the carbonara on my plate with the fork. I didn't answer; I avoided looking at him too. It's because he keeps giving me strange looks.

I heard him sigh, and the next thing I knew, he was carrying me. "Ero, put me down. Where are you taking me?" I asked him, but he didn't answer. He just kept walking straight until he entered a doorless room.

It was a black and white room with a king-size bed, and he placed me in the middle of the bed. I lay there while he sat on the edge, staring at me. I sat up and was about to question him, but I couldn't help feeling uneasy about our situation.

And I also couldn't help but think about sexual things. Gosh! What am I saying? Maybe I've been infected by Ero's madness!

I was about to say something to him when his phone suddenly rang, interrupting me. He showed me his phone screen, and it was his mom calling. He quickly left the room to answer the call.

Ero took quite a long time, and when I looked at my wristwatch again, it was already 8:30 PM! Shocks! Jacobo must have been waiting for me at home for sure. So I left the room and looked for Ero. It seemed like he was still on the phone with his mom.

"Mom, don't worry. Dad will go home tonight. Just wait for him." That's what I heard Ero say. He was in the kitchen, far from the main door. This is my chance to escape! I slowly opened the main door and quietly stepped out.

Fortunately, there were taxis waiting in front of the hotel, so I didn't have any trouble getting one. Before the taxi left, I glanced at the hotel entrance and saw Ero looking at the taxi I was in with a serious expression.

I grabbed my chest, feeling a strange and rapid heartbeat, but this time in a painful way. I looked away and told the driver to continue.

My shoulders slumped as soon as I saw how dark my entire house was. Wasn't Jacobo here? Or maybe he left when he saw no one at home. Sigh. Why do I always run out of battery every day?!

It's frustrating! On the way home, I still couldn't contact him. Jacobo has his own key to my house, and when he arrives before me, my whole house is already illuminated. But now, it's so dark.

I felt around for the main light switch to brighten up my house, and my eyes widened when I saw so many balloons floating inside, along with various colors of roses hanging everywhere.

I smiled slowly as Jacobo descended the stairs with his perfect smile. He was still wearing his office attire, and I really loved it when he wore that because I felt like his true wife, and he was coming home to me.

I quickly approached him and hugged him tightly. "I miss you so much, Hon." He hugged me back and kissed the top of my head. "I miss you more, Hon." I smiled as he called me 'Hon'.

"So, you like my surprise?" I broke free from the hug and looked around my house. Balloons were everywhere, and there were scattered red rose petals on the floor. I faced him and pouted.

"What?" he asked in surprise. "Oh, Hon! I'll be the one to clean up these petals on the floor." He laughed at my response.

"Psh. I thought it was something serious. Don't worry, I told my wife that I'll be working overtime at the office, and I'll go home tomorrow. If you want, I can help you clean up."

I immediately hugged him tightly and then stood on my tiptoes to kiss his left cheek. Jacobo really cares for me, and I'm so thankful to God that I met him. He cares for me more than anything or anyone else in this whole wide world.

"Thank you, Hon. I love you so much."

"I love you too, Hon. You know that, right?" I nodded. "And happy sixth-month anniversary." And he kissed my forehead. "Happy sixth-month anniversary, Hon." I said sadly. I clenched my fist, feeling the pain of knowing that I couldn't give him a gift.

I didn't have time to buy a gift for him as I waited for a long time at the airport. My plan was to cook pasta first, and then I would buy my gift for him on our sixth-month anniversary. But everything went wrong, and he ended up surprising me, even though I know how busy he is. "Sorry, Hon, I don't have a gift for you." I bit my lower lip because I felt like crying, but it hurt due to the earlier injury.

"Ouch!" "Hey, do you have a wound?" Jacobo asked me. Fear consumed me. I felt like I was cheating on Jacobo because I kissed Ero, and due to his rough kiss, I had a wound on my lips.

I'm scared! What if Jacobo finds out about what happened between me and Ero? What if he doesn't listen to my explanation? What if he doesn't believe that I was blackmailed by Ero? What if he leaves me? I can't handle that!

"Ken, what's wrong? It seems like you're thinking deeply." That interrupted my thoughts. I clenched my fists and forced myself to smile.

"I'm sorry, Jacobo, if only I could tell you everything, but I'm afraid you'll leave me like Mommy and Daddy left each other for their respective families. I love you so much, and I don't know what will happen to me if you leave."

"N-nevermind, I just bit myself earlier." He sighed and patted my head. "Be careful, Hon. I don't want you to get hurt." I tried to smile at him and nodded. "Let's eat?" he invited me.

"You cooked?" I asked in disbelief. "Yes. I arrived here at 4 PM, but you weren't here. I really wanted to help you cook pasta, but since you weren't here earlier, I ended up cooking it myself. Where did you go, anyway?"

My heart suddenly went wild with anxiety. What should I tell him? I couldn't say that I was at the airport waiting for a long time. I was about to answer when his phone suddenly rang.

It's his wife. He showed me his phone screen. I just nodded and went straight to the dining room. I didn't want to hear their conversation. I felt jealous and annoyed!

-The next day-

"W-what are you doing here?" I asked him. He looks different! Yes, he still had his clean-cut hairstyle, but now he had a stubble and a beard. He was wearing a dark blue leather jacket and a fitted shirt inside, paired with skinny jeans and combat boots. He didn't answer me; instead, he effortlessly pushed me inside and locked the main door.

"Ero, seriously! Why are you here? What do you want?" I asked him, and even though I was somewhat nervous about his actions, I tried to act tough.

"You," he answered seriously. My forehead creased. What did he mean by 'you'? I didn't get him.

I was about to ask him when he suddenly grabbed me and pinned me against the back of the door. The next thing I knew, he was holding the back of my head and started kissing me roughly!
