My Boyfriend of Six Years Proposed to Someone Else Chapter 1

My boyfriend had been doting on me for nine years. He proposed to me and arranged a grand wedding.

However, on the eve of our wedding, he suddenly received an urgent mission and never returned.

"Yasmin, I will definitely come back the day after tomorrow and we will get our marriage certificate the day after tomorrow at the latest!"

I was wearing a pre-purchased wedding dress and waiting for him to come back and marry me.

But the terrible news came that he died in the line of duty, with no remains left.

Three years later ....

Today, I went on a trip to a town called Witherbury in the southern mountains and met Christian Sanders who had lost his memory.

The girl in his arms was sulking and coquettish, blaming him if he did not love her anymore.

Christian's eyes were full favor as he scratched the tip of the girl's nose.

"How could I not love you? You are my life."

I burst into tears.

Three years ago, he clearly said I was his life.

——

The third year after Christian's death, my depression got worse and worse, to the point where I could not control it even with medication.

"Yasmin, you can't always live in the past. You have to learn to let him go."

My psychologist sympathetically suggested that I could travel somewhere to take a break and had something fun which might help me feel better.

After another sleepless night, I called my best friend and decided to go.

My best friend became excited when she heard that I had decided to travel to the Witherbury. She took care of everything for me and helped me pack and organize the travel supplies.

"Yasmin, I'll be in charge of the guide this time, so you just enjoy the trip!"

I smiled faintly, without any turmoil in my heart.

I just felt a dull pain somewhere in my chest.

It seemed to be reminding me in this way that I had lost the most important thing in my life, my beloved boyfriend ... Christian.

Christian pursued me for three years and fell in love with me for six years.

Everyone thought we would get married smoothly, even the two of us thought so.

Three years ago, he arranged a grand wedding, knelt on one knee and carefully put the diamond ring on my hand with a gentle and doting look in his eyes.

"Yasmin, are you willing to marry me and spend the rest of your life with me?"

I smiled and nodded almost without hesitation.

We were both orphans and had long recognized each other.

Even though he had already guessed that I would agree, Christian still happily held me in his arms and spun me around several times while saying, "I finally married My Baby!"

Unexpectedly, on the eve of our wedding, Christian suddenly received an urgent mission.

He had always been responsible and accountable. Before changing clothes and leaving with a frown, he tightly held my hand and promised. "Yasmin, I will definitely come back the day after tomorrow. We will get our marriage certificate the day after tomorrow at the latest!"

I had been waiting for him in my wedding dress.

But day after day, I became more and more frustrated.

Half a month later, the terrible news came that he had died in the line of duty, with no remains left.

In these three years, I would always wake up from my dreams.

I dreamed that Christian was blown away by a bomb and he was calling my name just a second before he died, then he drowned in the water. I tried to save him but could not catch him no matter what.

I tried to save him countless times in my dreams, but every time I woke up with tears streaming down my face.

My best friend knew that Christian's death had a great impact on me. She took me to see a psychologist, who told me that I had been suffering from severe depression for a long time.

"Yasmin, here it is."

My best friend, Margareth Clinton handed me a bottle of drink.

"The city we visited this time is super beautiful. It is a well-known as a slow paced city. Many celebrities and vloggers come to this city to check in."

Hearing her words, I was curious. I turned my head to look out the window. The high-speed train was speeding at full speed and the scenery was left far behind.

People on the internet say the town located in the mountainous area was a right place for healing. Perhaps it could change my mood better.

The trip was particularly long and I felt very tired after getting off the train. My best friend took me straight to the hotel we had booked.

When Margareth was busy taking care of the check-in process with her ID card, I glanced up inadvertently.

Instantly, I froze in place.

At the entrance of the barbecue restaurant across the street, a tall man was fiddling with the barbecue grill skillfully.

His muscles were tight, the contours of his side face are smooth and good-looking. Next to him sat a girl drinking milk tea and the two of them were chatting intermittently.

The man occasionally looked up at the girl, his eyes emitting a gentle smile with infinite indulgence.

The blood in my body froze, my back felt numb and my mind went blank.

Just staring fixedly at the man in front of me, my best friend called me several times but I did not hear her.

I had been with Christian for nine years, I would recognize him even if he turned into ashes.

But compared to Christian in my memory three years ago, his skin looked darker, becoming a distinct bronze color and his face had a cold and stern aura.

I could not help but move forward, never taking my eyes off of him.

It was not until he raised his hand to rub the girl's hair that I saw him wearing a red thin bracelet on his wrist ....

"Chris ... Christian!"

I felt like I had lost my soul and before I could walk over, Margareth stopped me from behind.

Margareth's face turned pale. She looked at the man opposite in disbelief, but she was still trying to comfort me.

"Yasmin, wait, don't be impulsive! That man seems to have a girlfriend ...."

I did not know why my legs felt so heavy, I could not move at all.

Because the next second, Christian smiled and hugged the girl in his arms.

He stood next to the barbecue grill, using his body to help the girl block the smoke coming out of the barbecue.

Margareth tightly held my hand and she was also trembling.

"Yasmin, you have to promise me that no matter what happens, you will let him go."

She looked at me with concern, her eyes turning red unconsciously.

I did not take my eyes off him and responded hoarsely, "Okay."
