Chapter 1

After receiving a scam call, I transferred ten million without hesitation. When the police later informed me I had been duped, I stayed calm—but my beautiful and wealthy roommate panicked.

In my previous life, on the very first day of school, my roommate stole my black card and took the entire class to an auction to release sky lanterns.

That night, the hundreds of millions loaded on that card vanished. My company lost all its working capital and teetered on the brink of bankruptcy.

When I confronted my roommate and asked her to return the money, she cried and threw herself into my boyfriend’s arms.

“Vivian, you can’t falsely accuse me just because your family went broke.”

My boyfriend slapped me and shouted angrily,

“Vivian Rivers, you’re wasteful, and now you want Huihui to take the fall for your mess? Have some shame.”

I went to the bank to request a transaction invoice as proof, but was hit by my roommate’s car.

My boyfriend and classmates all gave false testimonies, claiming I had thrown myself in front of the car on purpose.

When I opened my eyes again, I was back on the very day Hannah Leigh led the entire class to release sky lanterns.

——

“Hey everyone, free tomorrow? I’ll treat you all to an auction—my treat!”

When I heard Hannah say that, I froze. A chill ran down my spine as realization struck—I’d been reborn.

Suddenly, Hannah clung to my arm and said,

“Vivian, I heard you have a VIP card to that auction. Can you lend it to me? That way, we can all sit in a private box.”

Her words hit me like a thunderclap, and pain surged through me.

In my past life, she had also asked to borrow my VIP card—only to secretly steal the black card my father had given me.

I hadn’t known until my father called, asking why I had suddenly spent hundreds of millions, plunging the company into a liquidity crisis. That was when I realized Hannah had taken the card.

When I rushed to confront her and ask her to return the money, she wept and ran into my boyfriend’s arms.

“Vivian, you can’t accuse me just because your family's collapsing.”

My boyfriend Eric Mitchell slapped me and roared,

“Vivian, have you no shame? You’re extravagant, and now you want Hanhan to bear the blame?”

I went to the bank for a statement to prove the transaction. Hannah ran me down in her car and then crushed me repeatedly until I died.

When my parents tried to seek justice, my classmates and Eric all lied to Hannah, accusing me of being greedy and claiming I had thrown myself in front of the car.

Remembering all this made my blood boil. I wanted to rip everyone in front of me to shreds. I gripped my bag tightly and replied coldly,

“My card is lost. I can’t lend it.”

Eric grabbed my bag, flipped it upside down, and scattered everything.

When he saw the golden VIP card on the floor, he picked it up and handed it to Hannah.

“Hanhan, here’s the VIP card. You can use it.”

Hannah clung to his arm and cooed sweetly,

“Eric, you’re the best. Thank you.”

Eric beamed with pride, but when he looked at me, his gaze was full of irritation.

“Vivian, when did you become such a liar? You clearly had the card. Why didn’t you just give it to us?”

I slapped him across the face and snatched the card from Hannah’s hand.

“Eric, who do you think you are to touch my things?”

His eyes widened in disbelief, as if he couldn’t fathom that I’d hit him.

“Vivian, are you crazy? You actually slapped me!”

I slapped him again.
