Chapter 3

Gianna and I are identical twins. We exactly have the same luscious golden brown hair and bright blue eyes. We looked so alike when our faces were put together and no one could tell the difference. Our only biggest difference was the fact that I already have a mating mark on the left side of my neck. She still hasn’t got one yet.

According to her, Alpha Miles will only give her the mating mark on the day of their honeymoon—after their mating ceremony and exchange of marriage vows.

The video was still playing, and every second of it drove my sanity to the edge of a cliff bit by bit. Alpha Miles had no intention of stopping it. That is his other way of torture.

I swallowed again as I tried to tear my gaze away from the screen, gulping down the nausea that threatened to escape out of me. I’m definitely emptying the contents of my stomach to the floor any minute now.

“Where are you, Paxton?” I tried mind-linking my mate—to no avail. I was shaking. I want to escape and run away. Far, far away from here.

Now that I'm trapped here with an angry Alpha beside me and his disgusted pack members in front of me...all I could hope was for my Alpha Paxton to show up soon.

Because I now realize I am not a guest of my sister in her motherfucking wedding. Gianna wanted and planned to let me take the blame for her infidelity, and she didn’t care if I walked out of this wedding alive.

My sister never changed. Even when we were adults, she still blamed me for her wrongdoings. When we were children, I was always her scapegoat. I was always the one she pointed at every time she broke something. I was always the one beaten by my Beta father, sometimes the Alpha of the pack where we came from. And Gianna will just watch, secretly slipping a smile on her face when no one is looking.

But this...what she’s doing to me...what she’s done to me—

I can only let my tears speak for myself.

“Today is the day where you will witness a mate taking the justice on his own hands against his unfaithful mate.” Alpha Miles turned to me and whispered, his nose flaring in disgust and wrath.“You’re not even wearing white because you know yourself that even your soul is already tainted, you shameless bitch!”

I looked down at my burgundy dress. “I told you I am not Gianna! Gianna is still doing make-up and she’ll be here any minute!”

But a female Omega stepped forward. “I’m the one who did her make-up, Alpha. I swear I saw her exiting the dressing room and wearing the same dress as hers. She is Gianna!”

Same dress...is that why Gianna asked me earlier on the phone if I was wearing a red dress?

I shook my head. I stared at Miles, tears lining the corner of my eyes. I was pleading like an Omega about to be whipped. At this instant, memories from my childhood began flashing before me and for once, I was back to being that helpless Beta’s daughter again.

“Bring me the silver chain,” Alpha Miles’s voice was low as he ordered.

“Alpha, don’t. That is too much,” spoke by probably one of the Alpha’s Betas.

“Just hand me the fucking chain!” His voice now made me flinched, and for once I debated running to the exit.

Berating and shaming me wasn't enough for Alpha Miles. He was willing to incapacitate me to punish me even more.

A silver chain glinted between his fingers not long after. Before I could draw breath, Alpha Miles tarnished the smooth skin of my wrists and locked the chain there—preventing me escape and shift. I lost contact with my wolf. With the silver chain in me, I can’t even mind-link Paxton or any of my pack.

Silver chains are mostly used by Alphas to capture enemies or punish the members of their pack who have done them wrong. Now...me being the Luna of the Silvernight Pack is useless. My Alpha is not here. And with the silver chain around me, Alpha Miles surely will not punish me just for an hour—he’ll do it in a day, or perhaps days. Worst, a week.

“LET ME GO! I’M A LUNA!” I shrieked angrily at the top of my voice.

He sneered, clenching his fingers into a fist. “Really? You've got some courage to say that to my face? Well, this is just the start of this wedding-turned-revenge show, Gianna, and the entire Winterfang Pack will enjoy this!”

Hearing this, I instantly became more frightened. From Alpha Miles’ eyes, I saw an Alpha hellbent on revenge. I see an Alpha hellbent on killing his mate and fiancée just for sucking someone else’s cock. “What do you want to do this time? I told you I’m not Gianna! Look inside my bag and you’ll find Gianna’s wedding invitation to me, her sister, Monica Windsor. You'll know after you see it!” Desperation laced my voice and I will not go down today without a fight. I tried to break free from the silver chains, but it just grazed my skin.

Whatever explanation I tried to hurl at them, Miles would not believe me. He will not listen to me at all. Now I wonder if Gianna ever told them about me or her having a twin sister.

He picked up my bag. Instead of doing what I said, he took out the emerald necklace I had prepared for Gianna as a wedding gift and hoisted it in the air.

“Gianna, who gave you this?” Miles was one step from slitting my throat with the claws he unsheathed. “You sold your body to another werewolf just because I couldn't afford this?!”

“I told you many times I am not Gianna!” I bared my neck to them and let them see my mating mark. “I am her sister. This mark is from my Alpha mate.” I paused and jerked my chin to the necklace. “That necklace is a gift for my twin!”

Miles chuckled, and that sound was like a villain’s laugh. Before I could blink, Alpha Miles snapped the necklace with bare hands and the little green emeralds fell to the ground. One by one, they fell like raindrops falling from the sky until it was only the diamond chain he was holding.

With the glare he gave me, I could see the thought of him strangling me with that shimmering diamond chain.
