Mistaken and Beaten by my Sister's Fiance
Chapter 1
“Today’s your wedding day, Gianna!”
I spoke to my long-lost twin sister via the phone excitedly. I’m finally here in the grand hall where our respective packs will gather and where the wedding will be. I can’t control my excitement especially when this place is owned by my husband and mate, Alpha Paxton Rutherford.
A wedding is always a special day to attend, so I made sure I looked extra special today. I smoothened the skirt of my burgundy off-shoulder silk dress. Gianna mentioned that the theme of her wedding is burgundy and emerald green, so I also bought her a priceless emerald necklace as a wedding gift.
It was all out of the blue for my long-lost twin sister to invite me to her special day, but I love attending weddings and parties that’s why I immediately agreed to be here for her even when she just called me two days ago.
“Monica, you go first in the banquet hall,” my sister’s voice was crisp and smooth, “Are you wearing a red dress?”
“It’s burgundy, like the color of a red wine,” I whispered before I softly chuckled.
Gianna laughed on the other line. “It may be my wedding day, but I want you to look perfect too. I miss you so much, sister!”
“I’m already in the grand hall. I’ll be waiting for you here, Gianna.” Then I ended the conversation and called my mate, Alpha Paxton. “Hi, babe. I’ll be waiting for you here in the venue. Did you already tell someone to place two bottles of expensive wine on each table for Gianna’s wedding banquet?”
“Yes, love,” my mate replied. “I’ll be on my way there for a few minutes. I’m still taking care of pack matters.”
Paxton was happy that Gianna was getting married at the hotel he owned. In fact, Pax and I met here for the first time too! This place reminds me of the beginning days when our romance was just blooming.
“Don’t worry about me, babe. Just enjoy your time with your sister,” he added. “You know I’ll be there to personally congratulate Gianna and her mate. Also, I don’t want you to go to events like this alone. You know how protective I am of our little family.”
“I know,” and then I hung up.
As Gianna’s sister, I wanted her to shine at her wedding that’s why I thought of this lovely emerald and diamond necklace as a surprise.
Now that I'm here sipping wine, after a few minutes of waiting and wandering my eyes at the lush and lavish venue, I become restless. I feel out of place. I don’t know most of them and all the members of the Winterfang Pack kept staring at me as if I was their soon-to-be Luna.
Well, I do look like the bride. She’s my twin sister.
“Gianna, I'm here already. Where are you? I brought you a gift,” I said on the phone in an anxious voice.
“I'm still doing makeup, Monica. You'll see me in a minute or two. I've specially arranged for you to sit at the main table since I love you the most and I want everyone to be dazzled by your beauty!” Gianna exclaimed on the other line. She sounds so happy and her excitement is contagious.
I was deeply moved. Indeed this wedding hall was picturesque and to think this is where my sister and I will be reunited brings me so much joy.
Our parents are both Betas from a pack that has since long been dissolved that’s why were separated when we were young. I stayed with our father and she stayed with our mother. As a result, the two of us hadn't seen each other for more than ten years as far as I can count. Still, she’s my twin and I cherish her a lot.
Covering my mouth as I yawned, I stood and was about to get some refreshments when—
“Gianna, you bitch! How dare you show up here?” My hair was forcefully pulled by a male as he vehemently shouted at me.
“Uhmm—”
“You made me look like a fool on the day of our mating ceremony!”
I looked at him in the eye. In a heartbeat, I realized that the man was the groom. His clean face and tuxedo and the glinting trinket around his finger say it all. “Alpha Miles?”
But he ignored me. “Today, I'll show everyone how cheap you are!” Alpha Miles’s angry voice kept getting louder and louder and it unsettled me.
“I don’t understand, Alpha and—and I’m not Gianna!”
“You cheated on me!” The Alpha bared his teeth at me. My wolf, Hera, growled and my eyes briefly turned golden.
“You want to challenge me?” He scoffed, “Fine. I will show you what must be done to cheating mates like you.”
His grip on my hair becomes tighter. He pulled my head with more force. I pushed him away, but I stumbled towards him and he grabbed my hair again. Now my head is tilted to the ceiling. His grip on me was so strong that I screamed for him to let him go.
At the same time, the Winterfang Pack became as confused as me.
“What's going on? Why did the Alpha pull our soon-to-be Luna’s hair as soon as he entered?” The one to my right wondered. “Is this mating ceremony still happening?”
A Beta tried to approach Alpha Miles and me to calm the tension between us, but the Alpha only snarled at his Beta. The latter remained where he was standing and lowered his gaze as if to silently obey the command Miles had probably mind-linked him.
The groom, Miles Reynes, Alpha of the Winterfang Pack, kept his grip on my hair as he dragged me onto the stage. I was in so much pain that my streaming hot tears already wet my dress.
When I tried to look up, ignoring my shaking feet as I stood on that stage, Miles propelled me down to the ground. I landed face-first.
I’m not only extremely embarrassed, I’m also fuming in anger. But I don’t know where to direct it. I still don’t know what’s happening and why is this happening to me. My tears just relentlessly pour out.
He shouted to all the members of the Winterfang Pack, “I don't care about my reputation anymore. I don’t give a fuck if I’m your Alpha and yet I’m doing this. All I want is everyone to see what a slut Gianna is!”
I still had no idea what was going on but as soon as I heard Miles calling Gianna’s name and her a slut...I broke away from the silence that pulled me down.
“What are you doing, Alpha Miles? What the fuck is happening?!” I demanded loudly.
