"My car," I said. "James is waiting around the corner."

We walked quickly. When we reached the car, James straightened from where he'd been leaning against the driver's door.

"Mrs. Banks. Is everything alright?"

"We need privacy, James. Can you take a walk?

His eyes flicked between Marcus and me, reading the situation.
