Chapter 6

Hearing that Tyler had arrived, Violet's heart thumped as a quiver surged through her body. She went down in fidgets as she sprinted in the garden through the backdoor. Violet then wandered her eyes around and crept a proud smile, thinking about the efforts that Valery and Mother Lily put into making everything perfectly settled.

Violet sent a message to Tyler, telling him to meet her in the garden, with a grin on her solemn face. [Meet me in the garden. I am wearing the dress you gave me.]

Moments later, Violet's expectation of Tyler's response made her somehow gauche. Without hesitation, she shook her head and brushed off the jittery feeling that had bothered her.

'Perhaps he read it but was too thrilled to respond.' Violet pondered.

A few seconds later, Violet heard clamant footsteps. Closer by closer, it made her heart beats rapidly as if she was breathless. But when the footsteps approached her, Violet's eyes dilated when she saw Tyler stood before her. He was not alone.

Behind him, there were two other guys and one woman who wore the same dress as hers, which made her brow furrowed and alarmed.

At that moment, Confusion dominated Violet's face. Tyler had previously maintained a subtle manner, but tonight he was accompanied by his acquaintances and even held a woman in his arms in front of his wife. Did he show her his compassionate side to deceive her?

"Tyler, What's the meaning of this?" Violet asked, though, in her heart, she already knew the answer.

Instead of responding, Tyler grabbed the woman next to him. He wrapped his arms around her waist and sensually licked her neck. "Violet, you're so naive. Do you believe that a person can change overnight? Don't play dumb after playing with fire."

Tyler then turned to face the woman he had brought with him. The woman with blond hair mocked with a coquettish giggle, "Your wife, seems agitated, honey. What to do?"

"Don't mind her. She wasn't my wife. She's the maid who will serve us today," Tyler reckoned, his voice making Violet's spine stiffen with pain.

The next thing Violet knew, her body trembled as tears started to crawl from her eyes as she witnessed how the man he had secretly loved for ages kissed the woman in his arms without removing his gaze from her.

Violet's nerves rippled low down in her stomach as she defended her feelings for the first time, "I prepared everything...I prepared everything because I thought you had changed! I couldn't believe you could do such a thing!"

Tyler chuckled bitterly, followed by his friend's peel of laughter, which made Violet shrink to the ground as if she was just a mere speck of dust in front of their eyes.

"Man, you are right. Your wife was foolish to fall for such cheap manipulation. Like a devoted dog to its master, this ignorant slut seemed to believe whatever you said to her!" One of Tyler's friends commented.

Tyler gazed at Violet and smirked before saying, "Yeah. I told you, wasn't I? She was dumb enough to believe that I would change in a day. She really didn't have a brain."

With contempt, Tyler stepped forward, leaned on the weeping face of Violet, and grabbed her on her cheeks.

"How stupid you are, Violet. Do you actually believe that I would forget everything you did to me? Hell no! You are not what I asked for. In this life, Sara would be the only one suited for me. Even if you wear a nice dress, you are only a white lotus — delicate outside but rotten inside. I will never love someone like you. You disgust me!"

The wind was quite cold as if it sent Violet a tremor. Tyler's words rang in Violet's ears, and she felt a thousand needles pierce her heart. She may be messy, but she never mistreated him as her husband. Even though he pushed her away, her love drove her patience to stay with him.

But this time was different. The picture of Tyler's gentle smile, words, gestures, and how he called her wife in Violet's mind was shattered as her heart had been torn. Those gestures that swayed her heart and Tyler's words were all made-up lies.

Violet eventually realized what was going on. Everything was planned by Tyler, and he set her up. He duped her with his words sufficed with lies and deception.
