Chapter 1

On the first day of work, I accidentally clicked on the profile picture of my Mr. Beck, Josh Beck.

I smiled wickedly.

Then I texted him, [Your face looks so smooth, bro.]

Josh sent me an emoji showing how speechless he was.

I continued teasing, [Let me test in person to see if it's really that smooth.] Then I sent him an emoji with a lewd smile.

The next day, he asked me to his office.

"Amber, long time no see. Do you remember me?"

I smiled awkwardly and said, "I'm sorry, but no."

Late one night, there was a knock on the door. It was so loud that my windows were about to break.

I pulled a long face. "It's the middle of the night! Piss off!"

After cursing, I regretted it.

The person downstairs seems to be Josh.

What brought him here?

As soon as I opened the door, a strong smell of alcohol overwhelmed me.

What was going on?

I frowned, blocking the door. "Mr. Beck, have you been drinking?"

Josh was standing outside the door. His suit and tie attire formed a stark contrast with his aggrieved baby face.

The moment he saw me, he collapsed onto my shoulder.

"Amber Malone! You bad woman! You actually forgot about me! How could you?"

He complained while crying.

The noise of his crying and howling woke all the neighbors.

"Miss Malone, do you need any help?"

The new neighbor probably noticed my embarrassment and pointed at the drunkard leaning against my shoulder.

Although it was a bit embarrassing, Josh's weight was a bit too much for me.

"Thank you."

Just as the neighbor helped Josh up, Josh vomited all over him.

I quickly took Josh over and smiled apologetically, "I'm sorry. I will compensate you for the clothes. Go back and clean up."

"It's fine. Sorry that I didn't help much."

Who knew? My new neighbor was handsome and gentle. The smile on his face always made me so warm.

I seriously suspected that Josh did it on purpose.

I was not interested in bringing a drunkard into my house.

So, I reached out and wanted to push him off me.

Unexpectedly, he stepped in with one leg and kicked the door closed with the other.

He circled me in his arms, his warm breath sprinkling on my neck, making me feel ticklish.

"Josh, please restrain yourself." I resisted and reached out to push him away.

But I forgot about the huge difference in strength between us. He grabbed my hands with one hand and held my waist with the other.

He pressed his body against mine, and I couldn't help but take a few steps back and lean against the wall.

Was he trying to corner me?

His gaze was intense, and he smiled, "Amber, didn't you say you wanted to touch my face and see if it's really that smooth?"

I blushed instantly.

It had only been a few years. How come that serious and unsmiling Josh had become a pervert?

"Josh, stop it. You're drunk."

He was drunk, but I wasn't. I was worried that I lost control. Then things would get out of hand.

"Amber, I miss you so much! Can you not drive me away? I'll be good. Don't fall for someone else."

His voice was deep and seductive, his eyes were red, and his eyelashes were wet. All made him even more charming.

I felt a bit sorry for him when he looked at me like that, so I comfortingly patted his shoulder.

"Amber, can you fall for me again?"

My breath stopped for a second, and I felt a bit panicked.

Before I could react, Josh grabbed the back of my head and kissed me.

His warm lips and the clear sensation let me know that this was not a dream.

I could feel that his inexperienced kiss was filled with cautiousness and reverence.

As our lips and teeth intertwined, the alcohol spread through my nostrils, numbing my nerves. I unconsciously tiptoed and responded to his kiss.

We kissed from the hallway to the sofa. Even through two layers of clothing, I could feel the changes in his body.

It was not hard to imagine what would happen if we continued.

I tried my best to stay rational and pushed Josh away.

"Boss, are you trying to take advantage of me? Or do you want to experience what it feels like to be dumped again?" I looked at him playfully, sneering.

Sure enough, Josh paused, his handsome face turned cold, and he stared at me for a few seconds before angrily leaving me on the sofa.

"Amber, you'll regret it," he snorted and left me with a resolute back.

What happened? He was already sober?

I would regret it? In fact, the thing I regretted the most was pursuing Josh shamelessly like a simp.

I was so stupid back then.

Josh was my junior and also the son of my head teacher.

"Amber, can you help me this time? Pretty please?" my bestie Meadow Miles said.

She was practically drooling. Looking at her expression, I snorted.

"How come you like younger guys? You can even go for a freshman."

I took the pink envelope from her hand and knocked her head with disgust.

"Amber, you're the best. Remember to give it to the right person. He's Josh Beck from Class 5 of the Computer Department."

I went to the door of the men's restroom of the Computer Department.

I looked down at the photo in my hand. Yes, it was him.

I caught up with him in large strides and wanted to pat his shoulder, but I couldn't reach it.

So, I just shouted, "Hey, are you Josh?"

Sure enough, he turned around. He looked at me as if I were a fool.

I looked him up and down. He was about 6 feet tall, with thick eyebrows, bright eyes, and a high nose bridge. I had to admit that he was quite handsome.

It was a bit embarrassing, but if I didn't give him the letter today, Meadow would definitely kill me.

I pretended to be casual and took out the envelope from my bag. "Take it."

He didn't react much, but the guys next to him became excited.

"Josh, how could you keep this from us? You never told us you were seeing such a pretty girl!"

"Hey, can I add you on WhatsApp?"

There was a moment of silence.

"Get lost." Josh frowned and kicked them, and they dispersed reluctantly.

I gritted my teeth. If it weren't for the school's rule against fighting, I would have shown them my great fighting skills.

Was Josh deaf? My hand had been in mid-air forever, but he still hadn't reacted.

I shook it in front of his eyes again. "Take it."

"Sorry, I don't like you." Was it my illusion? He seemed to be mocking me for I was older than he was.

"I don't care. Just take it! If you dare to throw it away, I..." I clenched my fists and punched the wall.

Of course, I could handle a punk.

Although my hand was swollen, the final result was satisfying. Josh accepted the love letter.
