Chapter 1

The day my husband's first love, Nancy Garcia, woke up from a long-term coma, I jumped off the cliff with my daughter, Dora Davis.

To bring my daughter with me, I waived everything and left Sebastian Davis' home without a penny.

Back then, when the Davis family was being hunted by the mafia, I spent all my family's wealth and even lost both of my eyes to save his life.

However, Sebastian resents me for forcing him into marriage, which resulted in Nancy becoming a vegetative state.

He continuously belittles me, leaving me heartbroken, and I decided to divorce him.

But when the news of my death reached home, he, who had always been calm and rational, immediately broke down.

——

I had heated the dinner several times.

Looking at my drowsy daughter, I let out a deep sigh.

Today was Dora’s fifth birthday.

Her cheeks were red from crying as she kept clamoring to see her father.

I begged for a long time on the phone and even specially asked Sebastian's assistant to place the family portrait drawn by Dora on his desk, just hoping he would come for dinner.

But apparently, Sebastian forgot about it.

"Mom, will Dad come home? I've prepared a gift for him." Dora held my hand, and I forced a smile.

"He will, honey," I said.

After I carried my daughter to the sofa and patiently put her to sleep, I took a taxi to the hospital.

He must be there.

After getting off work every day, he would go to the hospital to see Nancy who was in a vegetative state, washing her face and holding her hand to chat with her for a long while.

Arriving outside the VIP ward, I was surprised to find that a group of Sebastian's good friends were also there.

"Sebastian, how can you just stay by Nancy's side every day, what about that blind loser at home and that little bastard?" one of his friends said.

I clenched my hands violently, and my temples began to throb.

Blind loser and a little bastard?

So, this was how his friends saw me?

The ward was silent for two seconds, and soon, Sebastian's responded impatiently, "What should I do? She volunteered to marry me in the first place."

Sebastian's tone sounded extremely forbidding, but I had already been used to it.

Back when the Davis family was being hunted by the triads, after I risked my life to save him, my parents forced him to marry me.

The day after the wedding, news came that his first love, Nancy, had been in a car accident.

Sebastian was heartbroken, yet still completed our wedding.

After we got married, he slept in the company and revived the Davis family's business. However, he treated me like air.

I knew he hated me.

He ascribed Nancy's accident to me and hated to rely on my family.

So, he bankrupted my family business and took revenge on me.

Regardless of whether I was asleep or not, he would broke into my room and let out his desire on me.

And when I found out I was pregnant, I excitedly told him the good news.

But he told others that I cheated on him and was pregnant with someone else's daughter.

And I was also portrayed as a fickle whore.

While I was stunned, someone in the ward said something much more shocking.

"But Katrina saved your life and lost her eyesight for you. As the precious daughter of the Wilson family, she was pampered and spoiled, but for your sake, she has suffered a great deal."

But someone interrupted him immediately.

"What do you mean? Are you saying that Mr. Davis' achievements today were all gained through women? But Katrina did this just to force a marriage, and it even caused Nancy to get into a car accident. She has been in a coma for so long!"

"the Wilson family has long been bankrupt. A woman of loose morals, along with a daughter who is a burden to you, in my opinion, you should get a divorce as soon as possible."

My heart feels like it's being squeezed, and the pain is making me hard to breathe.

Sebastian sneered. "Why are you talking about a blind woman?"

Suddenly, there was laughter in the ward, and a with a greasy voice said, "Katrina is indeed pretty, much prettier than some celebrities I support. She has a curvaceous figure."

"If you get tired of playing with her, tell me and I'll take her over. She's just a slut anyway," he added.

Sleazy laughter broke out in the ward.

I leaned against the wall and slid down, feeling so powerless.
